Just an interesting point some guys were making on sports talk radio. I tend to agree that if the Cavs could win an epic 7 game Finals, that would be tremendous for the NBA. Agree or Disagree.

I just can't stand to see LeBron win.  Would love to see the Cavs get swept.

I think it would be good for stories.  LeBron with Cleveland.  Cleveland winning in general.  Kyrie and Love would both have to get over a hump vs I think doubts against both guys commitment to winning.  Curry and the Warriors would have an offseason where the team has some question marks up in the air (in both departures and possible additions) and then a "comeback" season.  Plus also, barring change, could be set up for more Cavs v Warriors Finals match ups.

Live in Cleveland, would love to see them win, but the best thing for the NBA is the Warriors to close out the greatest season in NBA history with the title.  Now a great 7 game series is probably better than a sweep or something like that, but the Warriors winning is better.  Sets up a potential dynasty and dynasties always sell well.

Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Nope.

The Warriors are very well liked and a Curry Dynasty would only raise interest and approval among casual fans.

I agree with this. I would also add that I think it is good for basketball. The Warriors have followed the ball movement style of basketball that San Antonio has employed for a number of years and has spread to some of Pops former understudies in Atlanta (and also with Brad Stevens here). Offenses like the Warriors run with great movement and team defense is more enjoyable to watch for me (and presumably others) than Lebron trucking into the lane or Irving beating people 1 on 1 off the dribble. I don't want the NBA to have any thing that nudges it back towards the Isolation style play that plagued it in the early 2000's.

An epic seven game Final series would be the best thing for the NBA.

Either side winning should not really matter so much.   One can spin it as 'better' either way, depending on your own personal take.

The particular question also presumes that both CLE and GSW make it to the finals.  Nothing is in stone until it happened.  They each have to win 4 more games before this question is really relevant.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Yup. Rivalry is always best. I actually think the NBA is rooting for the Cavs to win it all. For all the bloggers who are over 25 you might remember the mid 80s and the Lakers and Celts. There was a going back and forth from 81-87, the C's were always in the mix. I am not comparing either franchise (GSW or Cavs to the legacy of the Cs or Lakers), but to have a rivalry where one team gets over the hump (Cleveland) finally would be much better, IMHO, than a GSW win. In the off season, all you would hear about is what GSW has to do to beat the Cavs.

Good point Pho. I'm on the fence about what would generate more revenue. Still think A Cavs win would produce more Dollars.

Finally? After one season? Pftt. This would spin better if they lost to GSW twice at least. When LBJ formed the Heatles and they beat Boston, it was FINALLY for LeBron because that is the reason he left Cavs because he couldn't do it before.

Call it a rivalry after Cavs win but it won't be a "finally" moment if the matches are 1-1.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
