Qi has ways and ways to go.  218 for his sizs is brutal.  He is 2 years away if even he will "get there"

Like with Cabolco someone will reach in the 20s

List of all the interviews scheduled for the C's. Notables include Brown, Ingram, Hield, Murray, Qi, Maker, Diallo, and Poeltl.

Solid list. You can see we are targeting shooting and size. I would also include Baldwin as a notable. He might go top 10 with the way his combine numbers went:

6-4 (w/shoes)
6-11 wingspan
38 inch vert
3rd fastest 3/4 court sprint time

I find the Maker and Qi interviews interesting. Seems to suggest they're going to take some chances on some high potential/bust prospects with our plethora of picks.

The thing is, they don't interview whoever they want. They get some of their requests to interview certain guys granted, but also the NBA assigns interviews sometimes. So maybe Danny didn't even want Maker and Qi, but got assigned their interview

That is not correct, unless that's a change from prior years.  There are a limit with how many interviews you are allowed, and how many players must take part in.  Accordingly, you may not get to interview with all the players you request, but they don't assign you to interview someone you didn't request.  That would be a waste of everyone's time.

At the Combine, the interviews teams conduct with prospects can offer some valuable intelligence. Teams submit a list of 30 players they would like to speak to, and then 18-20 are assigned to them by the league. Teams often request players they might not be able to bring in for individual workouts at their own facilities, and sometimes they are assigned players they did not even request

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I stand corrected.  This does seem like a change from prior years, but TP to you.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Call me cynical, but I think somebody is going to take Qi ahead of where he should be for the team apparel sales alone.

Draft Express has a Day one Combine recap as well.  They were also impressed with Diallo, Brogdon, Felder and Carter.

http://www.draftexpress.com/article/NBA-Combine-Competitive-Action-Recap-Day-One-5479/

Diallo was awesome. Plays with a high motor, runs the floor, is very active, athletic, and long. You can definitely see the upside in him.
High motor guys are intreguing.
Makes it easier to impact the game with out super skills.
Super skills plus high motor is the brass ring.
Any comment  on the kids skill set?

He's still pretty raw but he hit a few mid range jumpers and showed good form on his free throws. He even hit a turnaround j that looked nice in the scrimmage.

Right now in terms of offensive skill he's a roll hard to the rim and occasional pick and pop big. Watching him play it made me hate Bill Self even more for not letting him on the court in Kansas.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

TP for the insight.
Right now I'm looking to replace sully with a rebounding big who actually gives a flip.
Sabonis is intreguing but I doubt he will be available at 16.
Diallo may fit the bill but I'm worried about the long development window we'd need to endure.
Also, sounds a bit like Mickey. Do we need two long term projects who fill the same role?

Don't envy DA this spring/summer.

Guy needs spreadsheets to keep track of spreadsheets.

Whoa, just saw that Qi shot 60% from 3 in the drills.  I just knew he was huge -- I didn't know he shot from long range.  I can't imagine he'd still be there at 16.

Maybe he'll be the next Pavel Podkolzine.  Look up his pre-draft workouts.
More likely the next Bruno Sundov (Podkolzine was bigger and didn't shoot threes).

I think the pattern is pretty clear.

So Ingram is at the combine, but he's not doing measurements/drills?

Ah, if only we could play a five-guard lineup  ;D

If we pick Dunn, it'll be for another team or because we have one of our three point guards included in a trade ready to happen, hopefully Chicago for Butler since they've apparently got interest in him already.

I can't imagine Danny picking another combo guard after we have IT, Smart, and Rozier all needing playing time as it is.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

If we pick Dunn, it means we've decided to let Turner go and play Smart more as a SF off the bench.
