Curry was the MVP. He had the best season, and led a 73 win team. It's a regular season award.

My guess is that if Lebron and the Cavs beat the Warriors in the playoffs, Bron Bron will be quite happy with a ring and a Finals MVP.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson

Lebron doesn't care about MVP, he cares about the championship.

The Most Valuable Player. The player with the most skill, who contributes the most to their team. Used mainly in sports and video games
.

I see someone who is a MVP of a team,  where if they missed a long stretch of games the team would suffer.

If GSW lost Curry and we have seen this happen right before our eyes, the GSW still keep on trucking .   (maybe they don't win yesterday, up for debate)

But if the Cavs lost Lebron, well we have seen what happens also. Team is just mediocre.  Atl prob takes the Cavs to 7 or wins

Maybe there should be two diff type of awards. MVP where without you the team is in shambles and another for the best offensive player in the league

This is what the MVP award SHOULD be all about.  The person who is the Most Valuable Player to their team.  They guy who is most critical - the guy who makes the biggest impact when he is on the court, versus when he isn't.

Unfortunately, the MVP award seems to have never actually gone that way.  It's always been about:

1) The record of the player's team
2) The player's net statistics
3) The player's popularity among fans

If the MVP was treated how it should be, then Chris Paul should have multiple awards - because the Clippers are lucky to make the playoffs without him on that roster.

Likewise guys like Lillard, Isaiah Thomas and Kemba Walker should be right up there in the voting, because their teams would all likely be lottery bound if not for them.

But the Most Valuable Player award sadly does not reward the most valuable player at all.  It be renamed to the "Best player on the best team award", because that's pretty much what it is.
