Dino Rađja memories

I grew up watching him when he was winning Euro championships with Toni Kukoč.
I'm a Croatian and we loved him. At that time, NBA games were hard to find on TV in Europe.
There were some, not much. MJ certainly helped in the popularization of the league and increased broadcasts as time went on.
I'm curious how longtime Celtic fans remember him. He only played from 1993-1997
Something you liked, something you didn't like.

I remember him more as a Panathinaikos player.

When I was in high school, one day he stopped by the school and talked with the kids.

Nice guy.

I remember Dino as the best guy on a bad team, but my favorite Celtic at the time.  During the late 80's and early 90's I had tried to mimic Kevin McHale's post moves when playing basketball with friends.  Dino carried this tradition forward (no pun intended) when I was 13 to 17, and is part of the reason I have such affection for quality post play (and disdain for the 3-point happy aspect of the league today).

It's funny that you should mention Dino because just the other day I was thinking about a memorable trip to a card shop as a kid.  During one stop at my regular card shop I had asked to see what Dino Radja cards they had, to add to my nba card collection.  I'll never forget the owner's response of, "why would you want his card?  He's not that good, so it's not worth much.  You should get a Michael Jordan or something."  It was a pretty lousy thing to say to a kid, and definitely shot down my excitement at routing for Dino.  Nonetheless I kept enjoying his play and still have a few "Dino moves" up my sleeve when I play.  8)

He was a nifty offensive player

He was an poor defender

The guy never stood a chance playing after Larry though.
