To me Celtics have a better type of team to face LeBron and better coach .....IF ...IF ...IF ..they are 1000% healthy ......

The defensive pressure of AB, Smart , Crowder.....and all the other over achievers  disrupts the Cavs offense

Hawks look pathetic playing the Cavs .  Celtics took it to the Cavs last year.  Every game was competitive , not a forgone conclusion. .....like this Hawks series.

Hawks can't play defense or close out on the three point play......they suck.
Cavs are much better this year than last. Irving was out and Love also got knocked out of the series.

The Hawks are doing the same thing they did against us. They are daring the Cavs to shoot.

We definitely still suck.

Unfortunately for us we have a coach who knows how to maximize talent. We probably are sitting with an extra lottery pick from last year. Maybe Winslow. And another this year if it wasn't for Steven's brilliance.

Hopefully we get Durant out of this or else we really messed up over achieving just to get embarrassed two years in a row in the first round.
This is how I feel only I think it's not Stevens brilliance as much as the effort of so many mad dog players and especially the isiah Thomas addition. I don't think we'd sniff the playoffs without IT. Stevens is good but he is NOT our best asset. I'm so tired of hearing how amazing Stevens is.

If we didn't start sully and played Rozier minutes instead we probably would have Winslow but I do t think Stevens would cooperate.

Stevens is more elite as coach than IT is as a player. Stevens is a more valuable asset.

It says nothing, two different series.

Atl was totally a mis match for us, so are the Cavs. Facing any other team in EC would gave us much more chances for a second round.

It say the C's are still a long ways from getting to the promised land.  We need a major scoring talent and a big man who can actually score and defend.  All the other pieces we have or can get.

Our talent level is not on par with the CAVs right now.   They swept us last year with a healthy Love, I think they sweep us again.

For those who think we are good enough a team, your wrong.   Ainge himself, even admits that this summer is big.

Doesn't mean we are not fun to root for and most of us love this team in our own way.

With where we are now, I don't understand when anyone would be in any rush to acquire stop gap veterans to make us slightly better.  Where ever Durant goes( if he does depart) is going to be so superior to us for probably a long time . I think because of that  we SHOULD be playing the long game. Not tanking by trying to lose, but stop playing guys like Jerebko in favor of Rozier. No more Sully over Olynyk stuff. Our main goal, in my opinion, by far, should be developing assets.

Atlanta beat an injured Celtic team. If we had AB at full strength, along with KO, and Crowder healthy. We would have won at at least another game or two. Two would have meant we would be playing the Cavs. (for better or worse)

Our problem was an already below average to poor shooting team, lost 2 of it's best shooters.

Hopefully, we get some bigs who can stay in shape and are not soft as wet kleenex

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think if we play ATL with a healthy playoff rotation vs their healthy playoff rotation then we probably win.
We probably sneak a game or two off Cleveland but they are stacked.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

That we would've done the same if we were healthy

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my

I firmly believe we would have taken at least 1 game vs Cleveland.

Matchup-wise, Atlanta is in my opinion worse for us than Cleveland.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Stacked and they've been red hot. Their shooting right now isn't sustainable.
