Says his teammates need to step up and he himself needs to make adjustments. He said they double and triple teamed him every time down the floor. Said maybe he won't call for picks next game and just attack .

He's not wrong. Atlanta took him completely out of the game and we crumpled. This brings up the issue of getting another "star" player.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

He is not wrong but I would prefer if such things happen behind close doors.

I'm sure it was said behind closed doors too.  Probably before it was said in public.

Sure, normally I would agree. But when a player is stating he obvious and sticking to game performance issues rather than personal conflicts, there is no reason to keep it private. Everyone and their grandmother knows that the Celtics have no other scorer besides IT, and certainly no shooters to help keep the floor spread out for him to work. He needs help badly. Losing Bradley also made things much worse in that regard.

Larry Bird called out his teammates when they played bad. I think it shows great leadership by IT, and agree with him. Other guys need to step up. Smart and Jarebko are the only ones who have.

It would have sounded more reasonable if he had put up 20 points and wasn't the worst player on the floor. I can't disagree, though.

It's true that other players need to step up - misses like the Crowder and KO lay-ups (great passes from Smart) were killers when we could have pounced on them early. Instead we just seemed content keeping them in the game and then had no answer when they later destroyed us.

Obviously the offense needs some work, but the defense and lack of effort was the real let down. Somebody said in the game thread that the Cs had given up 61 points in 16 game minutes from the 2nd to the 3rd...amazing...

Larry Bird's comments after an ugly blowout loss to the Lakers in the 1984 NBA Finals were: "we played like a bunch of women tonight". It worked. It lead to the famous McHale clotheslining of Kurt Rambis and a Celtics title.

He's absolutely correct and had every right to say it..
These are grown men, professional athletes, if they can't handle the truth they are in the wrong line of work.

He's right to do so, and to do it now. When is he supposed to tell the truth openly? When the Celtics are out of the playoffs?

Besides IT, Smart is the only other player on the team who dares to shoot from three regularly (even if it's not his best skill as we all know, I like the mindset) and attack the rim.

Unfortunately today that would lead to McHale being suspended for the rest of the series and into next season. I suppose you could bring in Zeller, Young, or RJ to intimidate the Hawks, but they would probably just laugh at the proposition.

you don't have to clothesline anyone though, but at least toughen up and show some pride on the floor. KO could learn a lot from that clothesline.

Disagree for one reason. Someone calls you out behind doors just makes you mad and resent them sometimes. He says it in public respectfully and it lights a fire.

Last night was a disappointment. I wasn't even mad we were losing but we gave up in the 3rd. I couldn't even watch because they were playing with no heart and looked like they already knew it was over for the night. first time this year I was disappointed in how they were playing. Arguing with every call and that terry turn over with no one there to help with full court press.

I hope IT's call out makes them a little mad and makes some passion come back out for 2 more games.
