I thought Marc Stein recently reported that a surgery for a broken 3rd metacarpal could potentially see CP3 back shortly after a week?

If LAC manages to hold off Portland (big IF), then we might see Paul back, no?

Edit: ESPN reporting that Paul is out "indefinitely," while Griffin is done for the postseason.

Portland is so freakin' lucky.

A decimated Clippers team and a 73 win Warriors team missing the MVP of the league.

They perform like a bottom 5 lottery team without both Blake and CP3 on the court. They're done.

How terrible. Wouldn't wish this on any team, especially after seeing the Thunder's injury luck from 2012 to this season.

So the Spurs are going to win another one.  I like it because their titles are heavily correlated with the Patriots' titles and they're going to be on the warpath this season as it is

Sorry to hear that.

I remember how the "Injury Bug" cost BOS "SO MUCH" during our 08-12 run....back then, much of our injuries were attributed to "old age."

These guys getting hurt now are considerably younger than our squad was during the KG-Paul-Ray years.

I read on ESPN I think some article (link anyone?) about how analysts are using some advanced metrics to make recommendations about when to rest players. As one who "was" not to keen on analytics to measure such things I am way more apt to pay attention this stuff now.

I wish this technology was present during the 08-09 season....BOS at Utah.... :'(

Tough.  The Clippers went from a top 4 team in the west and dark horse title contender to... Meat.

Another area where Popovich is ahead of the game...

SF: Andrei Kirilenko '05-'06; Peja Stojakovic

Maybe shorten the regular season ?

Because of freak accidents that happened in the playoffs and can happen at any point?

If clips lose in round 1, there's a really decent chance Blake gets traded this offseason.  Bill Simmons has been talking about it for a while.

Trade Idea: Blake Griffin for James Harden

Clippers move away from a two big man system and get a 2nd creator out on the perimeter.
Rockets get a fresh start away from locker room / personality problems.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Not a bad idea, but not sure the Clips would want to give up their superstar for another superstar who plays no defense. Perhaps the Griffin issues are bigger than we know (in the locker room) and they feel confident with DeAndre protecting the rim, but it didn't do much good with Howard and a number of other solid defensive players protecting him.

This offseason should be an interesting one - so many prolific players with justifiable reasons to be traded.
