I didn't think it possible to be more upset with the Celtics draft than I was last summer, but if we take Bender I will be. He has bust written all over him.

Do any of the guys projected in the top 5-8 interest you?

Hield?  Poeltl?

I know your preference is probably to trade the pick for an established player, but assume for a moment that won't be an option.

We're most likely getting the 5th pick.
not true as stated.
1: 15.6
2: 15.7
3: 15.6
4: 22.5
5: 26.5
6: 04.1

These odds have been thrown around a lot, but it cant hurt to show em again. I think you both knew em too it just comes down to semantics.

Basically:

Flip a coin.

Heads -- we get a top 3 pick.

Tails -- we pick 4, 5, or 6.

Poeltl absolutely not. He has ponderously slow feet and I've seen him be dominated in person. Not quite as disastrous as picking Bender, a guy who did nothing in Israel, but close. Think Eric Montross.

Hield, mildly. He doesn't defend a lick, but the shooting has to catch your eye.

If it isn't a top 2 pick, I'm really not that interested in making it. I'd rather deal it.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Right, I get that, but there's a non-zero chance Ainge will have to use the pick, so I'm wondering who you'd take.

Murray?  I think for me it's Murray, or maybe I'd just hold my nose, take Bender, and hope the upside there is worth it.

I share your concerns, though.  Nobody outside the top two looks like a safe bet to be better than a nice player / decent starter.
