This game is so bad that I am posting in a game thread for one of the few times.
What last years playoffs and the first 2 games have taught me so far is that we desperately need an Alpha Dog player and an Alpha number 2 player as well. We have a 3rd in IT.
Since 1980(probably before that year as well), there has been one NBA team that won a title without a pure alpha dog(2004 pistons) but even the stars on that Pistons team are miles beyond the players we have. We have some great players who are meant to support the Alpha Dog we will get in the next 2 years.
As far as I am concerned, IT is a great player but he does not appear to have that special playoff gene that turns a great regular season player into a super star that rises up in the truly big games and inspires those around them to do the same. After tonight, he will be 0 and 6 in the playoffs. He will be a good supporting player to an Alpha Dog but will definitely not be a Pippen type of star.
I watch Atlanta and a I think a poor mans Detroit 2004 team that most likely will not make it to the finals(unless Cavs get upset) and have zero chance in winning a finals trip even if they got there. I watch our team and think a poor mans Atlanta team that lacks stars that can rise up at a good level in a playoff series (Horford, Millsap). Our top tier players do not show well against their top tier players, especially minus Bradley.
I am excited about this summer for our team..it all starts with that lottery and a 1 in 3 chance at a top 2 pick.....I need to distract my mind from this horrible display of Celtics Pride....
