Per Jay King:

Quote
Isaiah Thomas on Kent Bazemore: "Guys like that, we gotta try to limit them. We can’t have guys like that having big games."

Quote
More IT: "That hurts us if we have guys like Teague and those guys going off and then a guy like Bazemore going off as well"

Interesting to see how this effects Bazemore's mentality
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I love IT but that's bulletin board material right there. Unless you can D someone up, don't say it.

IT doesn't guard Bazemore. Bad move on him.

The other thing is is that Korver was held in check. So if we shut down Bazemore we still have to worry about keeping Korver in check and it's doubtful that Korver doesn't have at least few good games if this goes the distance.

"7ft PG. Rondo leaves and GUESS WHAT? We got a BIGGER point guard!"-Tommy on Olynyk

I mean, he's right, though. You can't let someone like Bazemore go off. It's just like the Aminu situation in Portland.

However, he should've said it in a different manner. You don't go and give your opponents any more fuel than they already have against you.

If you want to talk about bulletin board material (and possibly screwing us over this summer), look at freaking Tommy's latest comments about Horford:

"Here was Heinsohn’s take on the game:

'They (the Celtics) had to be totally despondent going into the locker room. The fact that they turned it around shows what kind of heart this basketball team has. That is the encouraging part. The additional encouraging part is if they can go out and stay aggressive at both ends of the floor, they can beat this team because (Al) Horford, as much as you think he’s a great player, he’s not a great player. Get a man on him and he has trouble scoring.'

The four-time All-Star was low-key in his response, but teammate Kent Bazemore didn't hold back with his response to Heinsohn's comment."
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Well Tommy is right. Horford is a good player but not a great one. I don't want to be the team that throws max money at him

Kent Bazemore on Heinsohn criticism of Horford:"There's always someone that’s gonna say a guy's not a great player. Jesus Christ had haters"

(I'm pretty sure he stole that quote from ET, by the way.)

Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Guys eventually play to their talent level...as will Bazemore.  If the Hawks need bulletin board material to beat the C's they're going nowhere.

But what Tommy was 100% accurate.  Horford is a good player (not a great one), and he isn't the type of player who is aggressive in looking for / creating his own shots.  He's the type of guy who takes what the defence gives him, and if you defend him he's not going to be a big factor.

He was a big factor in game 1 because we have him countless open jumpers and sent him to the line for 8 free throw attempts.  Defend any good player that way and they are going to kill you.

Tommy didn't have to make the comment (he could have kept it to himself) but there is nothing inaccurate about what he said.  There is nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade.

Great mind game. Baze gonna throw up shots to prove IT wrong. Wont have much luck with Jae/Smart guarding him.

Yes, i'd like to see Baze try to "do too much" just to prove IT wrong.
