The League obviously cares where the transcendent NBA talent goes. Some will argue he's not one of those players. I believe he is.

Now whether or not the League tampers with where the stars go is a separate topic on its own, but for Ben Simmons career, there would be no better team for his development than to go play for Brad Stevens and the Boston Celtics.

John Barry commenting tonight on how Coach BS is a genius, calling out of bounds plays. Imagine what he could do with a 6'10" Oscar Robertson type of talent that will instantly be one of the most athletic big men in the league.

Philly would be a disaster for him. I love Ingram, but the Lakers have Randle so Simmons is a bad fit with them, I hope they get Ingram for the league's sake.
Randle, Russel, Ingram, is a nice place to start two solid veterans and there ready to be good again.

Simmons needs a good locker room, and a great coach, and a team to show him right way to play. We can provide all of that and more. For the betterment of the association, Ben Simmons, and the Boston Celtics I hope to see him in Green with the Fortuitous bounce of a lottery ball.

Lakers with Ingram. Celtics with Simmons. sounds like an NBA marketing team's wet dream.

I firmly believe the League has no interest in making the Celtics better---they sell out every game anyway--and have won tons of rings---so don't expect any help on lottery night---5th pick for sure...Lakers will get No. 1.... Phoenix No. 2....Minny No. 3....Philly No. 4
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I hear you with the Leauge, however Silver is the new Sheriff in town so there's hope.

We may sell out every game or almost, but the money that could be had with Simmons on the Celtics and Ingram in the Lakers would be insane.

I think it's Phx 1. Philly 2. LA 3.  C's 4.
Phx and Philly need stars. Minn and LA have possible stars already in Towns and Russell. C's never win lottery.

Some fans are going to be incredibly disappointed if these are their expectations.

If we are gonna buy into the lotto being fixed then you have to consider the fact that all 3 of those teams tanked. If the NBA wants to avoid teams adopting tanking as a strategy and I'm sure they do as it causes ticket sales to plummet (I'm assuming),  then they would try to reward teams like Boston and to a lesser extent Phoenix because this is their first time being utter garbage while philly and LA have been there a while.

Most importantly I don't think the lotto is fixed.

Indeed. I am not that enamored with Simmons. At all.

I'd be inclined to take Ingram at 1.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Nonsense, the Man is a walking triple double, If you Like the Greek Freak you will love this kid even more. You can't stop him from getting to the hoop, he doesn't even need a jumpshot to control the game, and if the jumper develops he's a top 5 player in the league.

Look I was disappointed in Simmons attitude this year. That said the freshman avg 19ppg 12rpg 5 apg 2 apg 1 BPG. He's 6'10" he's be the best rebounder on our team, probably the best passer, he has better handles than our point guards, and he'd be the second best finisher at the rim.

What people are missing here is the Myles Turner affect. I'm perplexed by him going to LSU. Horrible coach, terrible teammates that can't shoot.

Put him on the Celtics and watch him soar. I guarantee it. Rookie of the year. Ten time All Star in the making.

Ben Simmons: zero career triple doubles.

I really like Simmons. He seems to have an incredible, natural feel for the game. He just looks a step ahead of everyone else. I'd be really happy to land the #2 pick because I think Ingram is going to be awesome and would fit our needs right now but if the C's wind up with the #1 pick it's still a no-brainer to take Simmons. Whatever flaws he's got in his game, I can see him working through based on his physical talent and mind for the game.

Again he was passing to nobody's. How long before he logs his first triple double in the NBA? I say he has 5 in his first year and comes close on a regular basis.

Well, the "6'10" Oscar Robertson" was also playing against nobodies.  You would think that Mr. Walking Triple Double could have pulled at least one of them off while missing the Tournament.

But, I don't really care about triple doubles. Simmons has the reputation of searching for stats, rather than wins.
