My Euro Binkie Ante Zizic can be had in the mid 20's in the first round. 19 great rebounder great motor 6'10" 255 pounds 7'3" wingspan.

who is better Zizic or Zubac?

For me Zizic by a mile, there is not much I don't like about him. Ridiculously productive at a young age.

Some mocks have zubac ahead?

Zubac has a larger frame..is that right

TRB per hundred possessions:

Sabonis 22 (career 21. WOW.)
Simmons 18.5
Poeltl 18 (career 18)
Rabb 17
Ellenson 16 (surprsided so low)
Stone 14
Chriss 11.

Jared Sullinger 19, Olynyk 17 for comparison.

I like Sabonis more based on these stats. Amazing he can be so effective with such short arms and not a lot of bulk... he has unreal good hands. Meanwhile, Chriss is going to be a project at the NBA level. Not sure I'd take him in round 1.
I'd be surprised if we don't target at least one of those guys in the draft.

Hoping Celtics pick Sabonis with one of our 1sts or trade up.  Kid has the "it" factor

Rabb and Ellenson would be nice picks with our 2nd 1st or move up also
I'm hoping we get Simmons at 1, but if we don't I'd be fine with Sabonis at 16

Can't see Sabonis being available at 16. That would be a steal
Where do you expect him to get picked among this group: Skal, Rabb, Chriss, Davis, Poeltl. Ford's latest mock has all those guys going ahead of Sabonis..

Good question.

Poeltl > Skal > Sabonis, Davis > Rabb, Chriss

There are so many things I like about Sabonis. He matches up sooo well with stretch 4's who like to operate on the perimeter on both ends - he has the mobility to guard them to the 3pt line + the inside scoring ability to punish them in the paint. That said, his lack of length caps his upside on both ends, and he matches up poorly with traditional big men.

It's really hard to project where Sabonis is going to go.  I've seen him ranked variously from #5 all the way down to #25.

I personally like him a lot and won't be shocked if he goes in the top 12 picks.   But I also won't be shocked if he's still available at either #16 or #23.

Regarding the issue with length , if he was a legit 6'11 how would you feel?

Also explain below.  How come poeltl/skal  with longer wingspan, higher vertical leap are not a better rebounders?

How come Sabonis with his mediocre wingspan literally carried a no name gonzaga to the sweet sixteen?  He is only 19 still

I like Sabonis, but I would pick all the guys you mentioned ahead of him. I want the C's to swing for the fences in terms of upside and I see all the other guys with higher ceiling's than Sabonis.

That being said, if the C's get the feeling that Sullinger is going to price himself out of Boston before the draft Sabonis suddenly moves to second behind Poeltl, because we will need Sabonis' rebounding immediately.

I know that saying he's last amongst that group makes it sound like I'm down on him but i'm not. I expect all the names I originally listed (Sabonis included) to be gone when we pick at 16. If any of those guys are available at 16 I will be elated.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Chriss is very raw (I believe he is the 3rd youngest player in this draft) and currently his game is closer to that of a SF/PF rather than a PF/C.   He's got incredible potential, but I'm not sure I'd include him in a list of the 'best rebounders' in this draft, at least at this point in his development.

There is Joel Bolomboy of Weber State. Had a ridiculous 23% total rebounding percentage!! That's unbelievable. If you watch his game I'm sure you guys will see a comparison there.

My solidified pick for me at 16 is Ante Zizic. He can rebound, has the quick feet to rotate on screens, solid mid range shooting stroke, the length to block shots, and the athleticism to hang with the big boys in the NBA. Reminds me a lot of Steven Adams with better touch around the rim.

He is a senior. Is he overpowering the younger players?

Or does he have standout length or explosiveness?

seeing highlights and reading on Bolomboy, he could perhaps turn out to be a Leon Powe.  Has really tried hard to get to where he is at now

but still has a mediocre feel for game and defensive awareness (but not exceptional length, strength nor explosiveness)

vs a guy like Sabonis that has these things (feel, awareness)

Sabonis is what Sullinger would be if he was in shape and had a nonstop motor. He also manhandled the Utah center that is going top 10.
