Mavs nearly acquired Kobe in 2007

So the Mavs almost acquired Kobe in 2007, but the part of the story that really stuck out to me was Dirk offering himself to be traded if it meant Kobe and Cuban telling Dirk absolutely not.  There is something to love from both of those guys in that type of exchange and may be why so many players love playing for Cuban.

I really wonder how that Dirk/Kobe dynamic would've worked together.  I'd have my doubts.
