Yea it was a joke
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I think he was meaning not getting home court rather than playing Atlanta.

Boston, Miami, Atlanta, and Charlotte all have identical records so it really wasn't all for nothing. All teams are pretty even.  The issue is I think the Hawks out of all those teams is the one I'm most worried about because I think Atlanta has something to prove this year, has a lot on the line, and has a lot of depth.  They are a bad matchup for us.  Charlotte is more a fashionable upstart. Miami are the team you just want to beat.  Hopefully I'm wrong and the C's oust Atlanta and send them back to the drawing board.  It could actually help us in a lot of ways lure a guy like Horford.  Or lose him.

It might prove to be a good thing.  The C's aren't going to underestimate the hawks.  They will be a bit worried going in and will be on their toes. Better than getting upset by Charlotte or Miami who we might have underestimated.

That's actually a really good point. The teams that we've looked horrible against lately are the ones that we've beat and relaxed against. Just like Golden State, I don't think we'll be relaxing against Atlanta.

The issue is The Hawks to me are definately the best team out of those teams though and might even be better than Toronto and the best team in the east not named Cleveland or us.

If I had to rank the teams in the east I think Cleveland, the Hawks and us are it.  I'm probably underestimating Toronto though.  They are like the Hawks the last few years.

I may be overrating Atlanta. They could be broken up this offseason and this might be end of the road for them.  It really depends which Atlanta shows up whether they are mailing it in or trying to make one last run at it as constituted.

Talentwise Atlanta is still better than most teams in the east. They've lacked consistency this year and have taken a step back though.

Charlotte and Miami are no joke though. They are all pretty close.  Atlanta lost Demarre. Kemba is having a great year in charlotte and they have more talent this year.  Miami has a good team too.

They are all pretty even. There is true parity in the east after Cleveland and should be interesting regardless.  I think we have as much upside as any of these teams and  we can go far this year.

Toronto is like the Hawks the past few years.  Atlanta has experience on their side.  Charlotte and us are young up and coming teams. Us moreso imo but might not work out that way this year.  Miami is a little of both. Take your pick.  Dwade or Millsap and Horford.

Um, yes, you are disrecting Toronto a whole lot.  They pretty much kicked our butt all year too.

No sensible person puts us ahead of Toronto.

I think Toronto is kind of overrated because they are like the hawks the past few years.  They are a step above teams like us, the hawks, charlotte and miami.  But just look at the hawks this year.  They lose carroll and they are on teh same level as us.  It's really just a few wins here and there.  I don't see toronto as a dominant team.  When we've wanted to make a statement against them we have. They are a step above teams like us. I think we out of all the teams mentioned we have the most ability to take that next step though.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Toronto are clearly the 2nd best team in the East.
No one will be surprised to see them take Cleveland to 7 games or even beat Cleveland. They've been without Caroll for most of the year and their bench is excellent.

As far as our match up goes, ATL are simply an awful match up for us. Their D is excellent at stopping IT inside and we're going to struggle to contain Millsap who is arguably the most under rated player in the NBA.

No one said it would be easy, we are just lucky to have a healthy playoff rotation and hopefully we can upset ATL while Durant is watching.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

C's get hosed by the fact that a division winner had to be one of the two who got home court.  C's had second best conference record among the 4 and won the head to head vs. Miami and Charlotte.  That's BS.  Doesn't matter though.  This team will take ATL.  Book it!

... and I bet they ignore playoff seeding for draft order and flip a freaking coin.  Seems like something the NBA would do.  The C's are gonna get hosed both ways.
