EASTERN CONFERENCE

Two series are set — the No. 1 Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the No. 8 Detroit Pistons and the No. 2 Toronto Raptors vs. the No. 7 Indiana Pacers. Everything else is very complicated.

Miami Heat

No. 3 if they beat the Celtics OR the Hawks lose to the Washington Wizards
No. 5 if they lose to the Celtics, the Hawks beat the Wizards, and the Hornets lose to the Orlando Magic
No. 6 if they lose to the Celtics, the Hawks beat the Wizards, and the Hornets beat the Magic

Atlanta Hawks

No. 3 if they beat the Wizards and the Heat lose to the Celtics
No. 4 if they lose to the Wizards OR the Heat beat the Celtics

Boston Celtics

No. 4 if they beat the Heat and the Hawks beat the Wizards
No. 5 if they lose to the Heat and the Hornets lose to the Magic OR they beat the Heat and the Hawks lose to the Wizards
No. 6 if they lose to the Heat and the Hornets beat the Magic

Charlotte Hornets

No. 5 if they beat the Magic and the Heat beat the Celtics OR if they beat the Magic, the Celtics beat the Heat, and the Hawks beat the Wizards
No. 6 if they lose to the Magic OR they beat the Magic, the Celtics beat the Heat, and the Hawks lose to the Wizards

WESTERN CONFERENCE

The top half — the No. 1 Golden State Warriors, No. 2 San Antonio Spurs, No. 3 Oklahoma City Thunder, and No. 4 Los Angeles Clippers — has been set for some time. Yet no first-round matchup is decided and one playoff berth remains up for grabs.

Portland Trail Blazers

No. 5 if they beat the Denver Nuggets OR the Mavericks lose to the Spurs
No. 6 if they lose to the Nuggets and the Mavericks beat the Spurs

Dallas Mavericks

No. 5 if they beat the Spurs and the Blazers lose to the Nuggets
No. 6 if they beat the Spurs and the Blazers beat the Nuggets OR they lose to the Spurs and the Grizzlies lose to the Warriors
No. 7 if they lose to the Spurs and the Grizzlies beat the Warriors

Memphis Grizzlies

No. 6 if they beat the Warriors and the Mavericks lose to the Spurs
No. 7 if they lose to the Warriors OR the Mavericks beat the Spurs

Houston Rockets

No. 8 if they beat the Kings OR the Jazz lose to the Lakers
Eliminated if they lose to the Kings and the Jazz beat the Lakers

Utah Jazz

No. 8 if they beat the Lakers AND the Rockets lose to the Kings
Eliminated if they lose to the Lakers and the Rockets beat the Kings

So who's the front runner for the Atlanta Hawks Memorial NBATV playoff series treatment this year?  AKA that playoff series which will almost entirely be aired on NBATV.

Do the Hawks even get it this year?  Maybe if its Hawks/Hornets?

Otherwise, Raptors/Pacers?

I thought it was interesting that the Heat can't be the 4th seed (only Boston or Atlanta).

Wouldn't mind seeing the Blazers drop to the #6 seed in the West and face OKC in the first round.  That could be an entertaining series.  Besides that prospect, the first round in the West is shaping up to be duds.

Outside whoever the Celtics end up facing, DET/CLE could be fun to watch just because of the feistiness of DET and the fact the Pistons did have some regular season success against them.

I think the Clippers could be vulnerable to Dallas or Portland.  I think Memphis v. San Antonio could be interesting though no Gasol definitely dampers that series.

I'm dizzy from this stuff.

I'm pretty dense, so what happens if the Cs beat the Heat and the Wiz beat the Hawks?

EDIT: Just saw it....thanks. 5th

TP to the OP for doing this.

No Gasol and no Conley make that Grizz-Spurs series only as exciting as the Spurs want it to be.  And by that, does Pop decide to sit Duncan and Parker for a game or two.

Yeah the Spurs-Griz potential series seems like a sweep with how depleted Memphis is.
