Brown is Danny's kinda player. It'd suck, but I could see Danny taking him top 2...

Remember, Danny wanted Winslow 4th last year. He wasn't trading up to get Porzingis. I hope we don't mess up and take Brown with either of Simmons/Ingram on the board.

We don't know this. Doubtful Ainge favored Winslow over Porzingis in draft.

Danny's type of old. But with CBS still?
I noticed CBS is big on guys with high IQ and top motors.

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

How about Iguodala as a comparison?

Good size at the wing, pretty decent ball handler, elite athleticism and superior strength, excellent defense and great motor.  Weak jumper entrring the league, but become solid as time went on.

Corey Maggette is another thst comes to mind.

Perhaps a more athletic Joe Johnson (from memory here took time to develop a nice jumper).

Jerry Stackhouse or Michael Finley?

A taller D-Wade?

I do really like Brown, with my only fear being the question of whether he can become a solid shooter, because I feel that's almost a necessity to fit in to this cm team's offense.

I agree that he seems like a Danny type of pick.  Hard worker, high motor, tough and physical, seems like a good teammate.  Danny tends to live guys like that.

If we go top 2 tough i doubt aimge will pass on Simmons or Ingram.

Bender is one guy I'm actually not that high on.  I feel lile Porzingis' success might have caused people to expect a similar leap from Bender, but he serms kinda limited to me
Nice defensive potential, but a pretty limited scoring game and not a great rebounder either.  Brown go go above him.

And? Winslow has a good IQ and motor like crowder
Plus some. It's no wonder he really wanted him

But as the 4th pick? Don't you think that's too high for someone like him? Because I know if we did get Winslow 4th, we would have so many threads about how we missed out on Porzingis and how Danny is a bad drafter and then Giannis and Gobert and Butler and Green and Hood etc start coming up and it becomes a whole mess.

I think Brown's a lot closer to a Shabazz Muhammad or Terrence Williams than Andrew Wiggins.  Maybe he's Tyreke Evans.

If we end up drafting Jaylen Brown, I'll be thrilled to be wrong, of course.

On the topic of Jaylen Brown this is my bottom line,

He has alot of physical potential but in watching his games I do not think he is at the same level coming out of college as Justice Winslow (#10 in 15) or Stanley Johnson (#8 in 15). They are different players but I personally would place him at the same prospect level as Hollis-Jefferson. This is not a knock as I was and still am very high on Hollis-Jefferson. They are different players as Brown is much better off the dribble and RHJ is a superior defender and rebounder.

In terms of this draft I have Simmons, Ingram and Bender as the clear no doubt top 3. After that Poeltl, Murray and Brown in no particular order make up my next tier. If the Cs fail to get a top 3 pick or to trade it for a player I would be fine with any of those 3 going to the Cs.

Love this player's potential, but he is a risky pick for three and higher.

I've been on the Brown bandwagon all year.  I've seen some games and highlights (plus some low-lights) and think he can play now due to his size and athleticism.  He's the SF this team desperately needs.  If we wind up at #3 and Simmons/Ingram are gone, Brown is my guy.

The biggest difference between these guys is their defense. For all the hype about Wiggins his primary value is on the defensive end, where he can be dominant. He got nearly twice as many blocks + steals as Brown in college, while also scoring more efficiently on similar volume. He had a significantly better FT%. I've lost some enthusiasm about Brown over the course of the year, but he's still one of the top candidates for a #3 pick.

I think you're spot on. Any reason you don't have Dunn in your 4-6 (7) tier?

On Jaylen Brown:

https://twitter.com/marcjspearsespn/status/722987208446119939

Signs are pointing to brown announcing his draft intentions at his press conference, but from reading the comments of the article in the tweet, it seems another cal player has used a press conference before to announce a return to school.

Also, could Rabb actually return, as Spears says?
