Before they became Celtics KG and Ray were two of the players I detested the most in the NBA. I never knew I could cheer for either of them let alone really adore them as I did when they put on the Green and balled for the Celtics. I cheered for them, I praised them, I loved these two players I had detested so much all because they were balling for the Celtics.

Don't get me wrong here, I always loved the Celtics, and their play did not make me love the team any more than I did,  but cheering for them just drove home to me how I really love the Celtics.

For those of you, and you know who you are, that think they will not cheer for player X OR Y, even if they become Celtics... don't be too sure!!!

I used to be a huge rondo fan, he was bar none my favorite player in the current nba. After the trade, my green colored glasses came off and I saw him for what he was. I still root for the guy, but before this I could explain away all his flaws.

Go celtics!

I grew up watching the Cowens-Jo Jo-Havlicek era teams.  Loved Jo Jo White's game, keep hoping that Bradley has some of that in him.

One Saturday in 1953 the Celtics were playing the heavily favored Syracuse Nationals in the playoffs.....I listened to the game on the radio and they kept on coming from behind led by Bob Cousy....they won in 5 ot's with Cousy scoring 50, including 30 free throws

I was a fan before that, but hooked since

Listened to their first championship game on the radio while away at college

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I was a casual fan before this. But when Paul Pierce brought the Celtics back from down 26 to the Nets in the ECF made me fall in love with the team.

My earliest Celtics memories are of Vitaly Potapenko and Milt Palacio buzzer beaters. I loved Antoine and loved it when he was brought back for a second stint.

I got into basketball in general in the last couple seasons of Bird's career and once he retired realized I could still sit through watching the likes of Todd Lichti, Chris Corchiani & Marty Conlon over the yrs.

When McHale close lined Rambis. That affirmed that the Boston Celtics would never ever back down. Celtic Pride was alive and well and the Lakers were in big trouble. We would not be denied.

I realized the depth of my love for The Boston Celtics when I'd get howls of laughter from my shipmates way back in the mid 90's when they found out I was a Celtics fan.

"You like WHO LOL??"

Being a fan THEN was TOUGH.
