are you kidding me with the Yao Ming first ballot selection?
i guess it is more of a popularity thing than anything else.
he has done nothing in his short carer.
thoughts?
It was more for increasing popularity of basketball in China than NBA accomplishments.
He opened up the game Internationally in a ginormous way. Despite his career being cut short, he did have seven solid NBA years. He was a borderline 20, 10 and 2 guy for a few of those shooting over 50%. However based on NBA accomplishments alone I would agree it wouldn't make sense to see him i this position.
that's what i meant by popularity, but still, you don't earn a hall of fame first ballot based upon that. NBA would till be huge hit in china with or without Yao.
who is next, Jeremy Lin ?
Brandon Roy wants in as well...
