And I don't think with the Nets pick he will but may try to use 3 or 4 picks to move up to 8,9 to try to nab Ellenson

For sure can't see Zeller brought back then.   Maybe negotiate harder with sully and camp. Or don't need to pickup team option for amir

Ellenson 6'10, 245, 7'2 wingspan, 9'2 reach has all the tools to be like a love. Is slightly taller ,  and has longer wingspan/reach too (already higher potential on the defensive end)

Another prospect kind of like ellenson/love is Stephen Zimmerman.  A bit more on the finesse side though. 7'0 235 pounds, 7'.25 wingspan, 9'1.5 reach

Zimmerman shoots like McHale.  Could be there at 21-23

But both of these guys are, what, 4 or 5 years away from reaching Love's level of production?

I like Ellenson a lot, but James Young and RJ Hunter have made me wary of guys who didn't shoot 3's at a high percentage in college but were supposed to develop into good shooters because their shot looked smooth.

Ellenson also brings up a similar concern I have to adding Love, I'm not sure about his defense.

Big Zimmerman fan, I think he's going to skyrocket up draft boards once teams work him out. If we can get him with our first, it's a no brainer.

CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

On the flip side look how KO has turned out shooting the 3

Sabonis, Ellenson, and Zimmerman? Sounds like you quietly have one foot off the Mickey hype-train with you scouring the draft for a quality PF.

Guess again.  Sully , Zeller and possibly amir are out the door next year

Ok, so how about Olynyk and Jerebko? Plus the PF (say Sabonis) you want to draft? Those 3 guys, along with Mickey, are all PF's.

That's a good point, he barely shot 3's in college.

If we move on from Sully we are going to need to replace his rebounding. Long term I could see Ellenson doing that. If he ends up available with the Dallas pick I think the C's select him.

If Ainge wants Kevin Love on this team, he wants a proven veteran that has shown the ability to put 22-24 PPG on the board at and efficient level but can also generate offense from the inside and outside while fitting into the team's offensive scheme as a number 1 or number 2 option. He also wants someone that is proven to put up 10-14 RPG.

In other words, he wants a difference making star.

There isn't a big outside of Simmons that will be in this draft that has the ability to be that player next year. We are in win now mode. Ellenson or Zimmerman could be nice players to put at the end of the bench for next year and try to develop so maybe in 4-5 years they have a chance at being what Kevin Love is now, but those players aren't going to give Ainge what he is looking for to transform this team into a contender next year. That is only going to happen by closing a deal for a Love, Blake, DMC, Butler, Horford, Durant type player.

What if Ainge trades for Love and has assets left over which allow him to maneuver into a position where he also drafts Ellenson or Zimmerman?
