I think we are so blessed to take the best player in the Nation, who has huge NBA Upside IMO.

I'm not saying he's Steph, but if anybody in this draft becomes a Steph like shooter it's going to be Hield. I hear people saying they don't want to wait for a rookie to be good.

If that's you, than root for the Celtics to take Buddy Hield the best player in the draft.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
It doesn't really matter. If we end up with the 3rd/4th/5th pick, and Hield is still available, I would rather Ainge just trade the pick. Hield looks promising, but I'm convinced we would have enough assets to get us a better player RIGHT now.

Maybe we could pull off a miraculous Demarcus Cousins trade, especially with how much of a fall out he has had with George Karl, and how tired it seems like Cousins is getting.

If Ainge does decide to pick Hield, I'll trust his instincts. Even though he isn't the best drafter, I still think he has a huge basketball IQ and is still a great evaluate at talent.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

Yes. But he is going 3rd.  From 4 , things start to get interesting. No definite 4th best player. 4-8 anybody's guess

Not really know him but i am not that high on him
Not a good defender, not an elite athlete, dribbles not good enough to go where he wants
and above all he is old(for a rookie) and may already reached his upside

idk he's a senior so we expect him to have this level of production

im usually cautious in drafting players that are older and had played a lot of mins freshman season but had minimal production

Sorry but no.  Not every senior is going to carry his team to the final four. Go 8-13 in threes

He will .  he surpassed 3-8 prospects and taken the lead for the third spot imo

So clutch right now. Carrying his team on his back to the final 4

He looks like a cross between Ray and Pierce. As far as personalities go he fits the celtics mold more than anyone.  If we are sold he can be our star and we can land that guy this draft I take him.  I like Hield more than Simmons or Ingram that way even.  I just don't see him lasting that long. Teams do silly things though. Pierce lasted but he didn't have the breakout year his 2nd year Hield is as a senior.  Curry slid too though and had a breakout college year.  I think if hield is there we have to take him.

I would rather have Ingram or Simmons due to upside/age, but if neither of those two are available at our pick, then I can't see who else I would pick instead of Hield. Sure he's a senior, but what he's doing right now is incredible. Single handedly carrying his team to the Final Four.
