That separates us from other teams is that we understand our talent and make the most of it.  We also don't sacrifice the future by making moves until we maximize what we have first.  We are a well coached team.  Stevens is really good but  a lot of people and fans would have given up on this team on paper.  A lot of the country is like that. I listen to people from other parts of the country and even in  Boston too sometimes but  a lot of people are just like that. Just watching the suns tonight they don't play defense they have no direction of cohesion at all.   It's like on paper they just weren't very good and whoever is coaching that team just didn't get the most out of them.  A lot of teams are like that in the  NBA. The Celtics have been improving each year we've had our suns moments at times the past couple years where we just give teams free reign to the basket.  Sully used to drive me nuts with that stuff but we've always played hard.

This team is made up of players like that.  Isaiah, Bradley, Crowder, Smart, Sully, KO, Turner, jerebko, Zeller, etc, etc.  Talented players where teams gave up on them before they even knew what they had.   Ainge is a genius at finding these types of guys.

It's all done through hard work too, knowing the types of players we want and getting them and having a system in place where we share the ball and are well coached that's the thing.

Can you imagine the Timberwolves, if Brad was their coach?

I hope that when this season is over and this squad, most likely, changes quite a bit, that fans don't forget this season and last season. I have gained so much enjoyment from this group and both seasons they have achieved well above what most people expected.

CBS has proved he belongs in the NBA and he deserves much of the credit. He can't take the floor though and, no matter how much weight you put on his coaching and influence, the players have proven themselves individually and as a deadly team. 'Deadly' is used here in Australia by indigenous Australians to mean awesome or something close to that. I have adopted that meaning here.

So many fans eyes are on the rebuild and which draft pick and/or free agents we will pick up, the achievements of this team become under valued. I am excited by the future prospects and desperately want DA and co to provide fans with a contending team. Right now though I am excited by a team that is 'contending' and has beaten many of the best teams in the NBA. Thoughts of a new dynasty or big three are secondary to enjoying ET, Avery, Jae, Kelly, Marcus, Amir, Sully, Evan, Jonas etc and even the new kid Rozier. Long way of saying, I love this team too.

All this, yes. Without star talent, DA did what he could to improve the team while waiting for that big break. That includes getting a great coach who would put in a system that could be effective without superstars, namely playing tough nosed defense using "pit bull" players, and running an unselfish offense. DA also is patient enough for the talent on the team to develop into either bonafide good players or into more valuable assets.
