What about a scenario where the C's don't get into the top 2 in the lottery, say 3-5 and trade that pick and Marcus Smart and some other assets for Jimmy Butler.  If we then let Amir and Jerebko go we would then have room to sign Durant and Horford.  Wouldn't  that be pretty enticing to Durant?

I agree about the taxes. I am hopeful that since Boston is a top 5 NBA market (and top 3 globally I believe) that he could get some of that back with more endorsements and merchandise sales?

This taxes thing comes up fairly often. Why doesn't the NBA fix it to level the playing field?

I understand that you can't change state tax law, but why not pro-rate the salary cap state-by-state so that after-tax salaries are always equal (based on what % of the cap a player receives)?

The league could even then make a series of side payments that would make whole the teams in high-tax states (who'd be paying out more pre-tax salary dollars).

When you are making millions and millions of dollars the difference in taxes shouldn't really matter.  It's not like he is making $60,000 a year. Lol

All we need is a chance, and looks like we'll have one once he meets with BOS this summer.

When KD looks at ALL of his options we should be right up there on his list.

We have a bright young coach.

A GM that is constantly looking to improve his roster.

A nice group of current players RIGHT NOW.

A young All-Star in IT4.

A candidate for MIP in Crowder.

Great team chemistry.

A great lottery pick this year, AND even more picks in the near future.

And we're still young.

I'm optimistic about our shot at getting him.

So have Danny set it up where Durant and Horford are here together (coincidence or not) and pitch it with a few of our studs like  Jae Crowder and IT accompanied by Bad Brad of course. Definitely have a few of our HOF guys around as well.

Some might not like this tactic but I think it would be effective. Letting these guys know this is a loyal organization that sticks together and we are serious about bringing them both in here.
