ESPN top 30 draft picks based on stat projections

I think my order of preference for our picks, leaving out foreigners about whom I don't know enough yet, is something like


Simmons > Ingram > Poeltl > Dunn > Murray > Hield > Ellenson > Brown > Valentine > Prince > Sabonis > Skal


I don't get how this Wade Baldwin kid can be assessed as "probably at best a solid back up point guard" and end up in the top 10 of this ranking.

He's a really good spot up shooter (we are third worst in the league in spot up shooting %) and he's a good defender due to his wingspan (6'3 height but 6'10 wingspan). That wingspan allows him to defend taller players which the C's value highly.

That being said I'm not really interested in him with the Brooklyn or Mavs pick.

Unless he's got really significant pure point guard skills, don't we already have a few guys duplicating his skillset?


"Guard with long arms who has high defensive and spot up potential but who is a poor finisher" sounds like a movie I've already watched too many times at this point.

Limited viewing I know but Sabonis looked excellent last night.  He can really play and his dad was 7'3".

Thanks.  I found that, but I want to know his standing reach, vertical, etc.  I guess I will have to wait until the Chicago Pre-Draft measurements.

All I can find otherwise is this fluff piece article where someone is quoted as saying that "people don't realize [Warney] has the wingspan of a 7 footer" and he's the best passing big man that has played in their [conference?] in a long time.

Thanks Quetz!!  Did anyone see him vs. Kentucky last night?  He apparently dominated their front line!!  I have a funny feeling this kid will sneak into the draft and I don't know if sneak is the right choice of a word, more like EARN!!

 Tp Eddie for the great info. The Ellenson vs Poeltl debate for the Celtics Intrigue's me. You could argue Go with Poeltl over Henry because there advance stats are so close, however Henry is only a freshman and has more Upside, so I'm still on the Ellenson train at this point.

Warney also put up 22, 11, and 4 blocks vs. then #17 Vandy who has the guy, Damian Jones, who draftexpress.com has going #15.

I want this kid.  Seems like the new Leon Powe to me.  That is the worst case scenario.  He could be much better, but Powe was good for us and was a SOLID role player helping us win the World Championship.

I like the way he plays.   He looks like a cross between Powe/Big Baby or Sullinger.   Really big kid but light on his feet.  Shooting could be better.  Two games ago scored 43 .  Has had multiple 20 plus rebound games.  Blocks shots.  Just tough under the basket.

Looks like has at least a 7'2 wingspan but pretty explosive off the ground for his size
