Great stuff - some Celtics-relevant highlights:


- According to Scal Draymond Green was #3 on the Celtics draft board in 2012, behind Anthony Davis and Sullinger.  Why we then took Fab Melo is not addressed, but there you go.

- Greg Monroe was not offered a max contract by Boston (this one is implied)

- Cs used analytics to see that KG's performance dropped off after 4 game minutes, which is why we played him in more 4-5 minute bursts his last few seasons.

Also, Rondo thought he ran the equivalent of 8 miles a game, when in fact it was little more than half that. There's a joke in there somewhere . . .

This is an odd conclusion to come out of Sloan, considering the obviously flawed math...

That has to be at the PF spot - assuming they had Draymond as a PF.  There is no way they had Green or Sully in their top 3 overall and then passed on Green.  Since they took Sully then the probably figured to go with their highest rated Center after that.

And coffee naps, I've been doing that for years.  Now I know there's a name for it.

I heard that Mike Zarren had Green third on his big board.  Perhaps the rest of the FO disagreed and hence Fab.

Per nr 44, it is a bit misleading. Zarren had Draymond Green ranked third among the bigs not among all players of his draft class.

Also, I'm calling BS here

24. Silver also called for relegation in the NBA, adding that he believes there are too many teams in the league. Few make it to the title game and even fewer win a championship, making it tough to justify their existence after decades of middling performance, he explained.

I can't think of a single team that has not been a contender in the last 35 years - even the worst franchise in NBA's history, the Clips, have made some noise the last couple of years.

Silver just wants to draw attention to how the NBA has evolved from a league where only 5-6 teams had a real shot to the title (that was the case in 80s) to a much more open league in the last few years (last season you had two of the historically weakest franchises playing in the Finals). aka drawing attention to himself
