I think it's pretty clear the entire team mentally checked out months ago.

He had 10 points, 12 rebounds and an assist - you consider that a red flag?  He shot poorly which happens, but that's hardly a disgraceful stat line.

Remember when we beat the Lakers by something like 30 points in game 6 of the NBA finals?  I'd say that is unacceptable to, but their best player, Kobe, is an All-Time great with 5 rings.

Didn't the Warriors just get blown out by 20-something against the lowly Lakers a week ago?

Teams have blowouts.  You don't want it, but it happens to the best of teams.

 It was his last game in college. Hes supposed to be Lebron James, he's the best prospect since Wiggins.

He's had quite a few accusations during the year of being a stat stuffer. Things like only passing when he's certain of the assist and stealing rebounds from team mates. Obviously you still need a certain level of play to achieve that though.

It's interesting that Jonathon Givony of Draft Express has bumped him from the number 1 spot. He stated that going into the season there was a lot of undue hype for Simmons

For me the negatives are beginning to pile up on him. Attitude concerns are what gets me the most. The whole idea of checking out to preserve himself and his health is certainly logical but you don't really see that from guys who want to win. Think Rondo after dislocating his elbow or Mchale playing with a broken foot.

Ingram is the only real challenger he has but as time goes by it seems like he'll fall to 2nd overall

This just means getting interviewed more extensively. Media scrutiny etc.

It looks like to me he is sick of college ball already, sick of academics and wants to just play ball at the big stage.   To me this is not a good thing.    #1 question is, will he follow what the coaches say, will be pay attention at Huddle's, do extra work at film sessions/practice

He is good but he needs to become a little more humble/come down to earth right about down

A&M is a 3rd seed in the tourney and LSU didn't qualify.  Kind of a big disparity in quality of team there.

But hey, I'm happy to see LSU do terribly if it means Simmons is more likely to "fall" to the Celts.

Kid is 19 years old. At that age you just have to draft on talent on not on what the college locker room might be like, or how he might be reacting to the advice of much older people telling him where to play, how to play etc.

Really?   Man, I have known a ton of kids for whom the family connection to a college/university is ALL that matters.   I literally was just in a conversation regarding someone choosing to go to a school solely because their parents and grand parents had gone there.   Heck, some even base their career choice on family history ("My parents are doctors/lawyers and my uncle is a doctor/lawyer and ... so I will become a doctor/lawyer.").

I've seen many of them end up in situations where they regret not making a choice better tuned to who THEY are as individuals.

Simmons isn't really at all unusual in this regard.  He's just a kid who probably was trying to please family with his choice, not having any idea how this last season could end up where it did.

In the end, it is just one year of his life.   This won't define who he is as a person.
