A pure shooter would help this team immensely. forget Horford I want korver.

this game against Houston specifically. we had no desire to take the ball inside and this team tends to lean on the jump shot a lot. an actual shooter would do wonders for this team, not just a group of guys that can make a jumper. there's a difference.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

We have a bunch of good shooters, but nobody 'elite'. Kelly was inching toward that category before he got injured, but he just never got enough shots. It is even better that he is essentially a center pulling the opposing team's big man out of the paint.

I do not like our offense without Kelly. Even though we have been getting some wins, there just seems to be something a little off.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Well if our Nets pick falls to #5 or #6 Buddy Hield or Jamal Murray will be available.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

When KO is playing we have plenty of support for IT on the scoring end. If AB doesn't get points (he is hitting his average of 15 regularly it should be said) Smart or Turner seem to fill the void. Even with a fit KO though I don't like the idea that if one player has an off night the team will be okay because someone else will stand up. Mainly because I think you get found out in the playoffs if you don't have that guy who can be counted on to hit 20+ points.

IT needs support from a player who is accurate and dangerous enough to take opposition attention away from him. The other good producers on the team, who have been doing a great job, may struggle in the playoffs - especially against teams we will meet if we go beyond the second round. The more the onus is on IT,  the easier it is for other teams to defend.

Having just reread what I have written, we are still pretty tough with a fit KO and Crowder. I too have a nagging desire to see a pure scorer out there. Just to confuse things even more, maybe KO will be that player.

I still wouldn't call anyone on this team a "shooter", we have a bunch of guys that can hit outside shots occassionally.

We have one star and a bunch of guys who play hard but are role players.   Some of our guys have unique gifts but a lot of them can't shoot that good.   KO can a bit but he is out.  Bradley can but he had an off night.   Crowder has improved in this area, but has not done as well the last few games.   Sully is all over the place, in terms of shooting but he did well last.  IT makes the hard shots and misses the easy ones.

We could use a star that can shoot, for certain.

I chose the word 'good' carefully. I think IT, KO, AB, and Crowder all constitute at least 'good' status. Other guys like Sully, Marcus, and Turner are at least adequate within their range. I don't think we have the fire power we need to run our offense in the most efficient way possible. Danny has reached in recent years with Young and RJ looking for more range, but it doesn't look like they are going to pan out as he hoped (although they could become rotation players at some point...likely on another team).

Avery is the only "shooter" on the team.    Kelly and Jonas are shooters but they are spot up set-shooters.

really? cuz I still don't have any confidence if AB is open that the shot has a better than good chance of falling. I still consider him just a guy that has that range. that's not a "shooter" imo.

I think the C's need a "go to scorer" type who can create his own shot. Right now, IT and Turner are the only players on the team that can do that and both have their limitations late in games (IT due to his height and Turner for his lack of 3pt shot).

I wish Smart could be that guy but it's looking less likely by the day. Maybe our go to scorer lies in Ingram? Hield?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Maybe down the road in the future should they draft any of those guys. It's unfair to expect any rookie to become the go to scorer so soon. It would take several years at least and I do not forsee the C's wanting to wait that long. I think they plan on making moves to take that next step this off season towards becoming contenders.
