At least we have a chance  :)

Ainge: "I believe the extraordinary is possible.  What's really important is that they believe, and that's what I love about these guys.  I love that they believe they're gonna win every night they go out on the court."

I'll take that 2.7% anyday.

What are the chances of Bron blowing out his knee or suffering some other season ending injury?  Is it higher or lower than 18%?

I think we could beat Cleveland, if it was fairly officiated.
But that will never happen.

If those were the actual odds, that would be awesome. It'd mean our chance of making the Finals is better than the 3rd worst team's chance of winning the #1 overall pick and our chance of winning the Finals better than the 8th worst team's chance of winning the #1 overall pick. Anything is plausible.

That said, where did these odds come from?

Here's a link to the article that I think the OP is mentioning: http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2016/03/04/what-are-odds-celtics-will-extraordinary-this-season/perrgDdHMxFgY8nDWzNwWP/story.html

I think they quote "basketball-reference.com's playoff probability simulator."

And here's the actual basketball-reference link:

Interesting that the Cavs are only a 35.6% chance to make the Finals, while both Golden State and San Antonio have a 45+% chance.  Golden State has a better chance to make the Finals, but San Antonio has better odds of winning the whole thing  ???

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

what ever it is, it's higher than zero.  ;D

for this team to even offer a CHANCE at a championship would have been completely unbelievable last year at this time. this is a fun season regardless of its outcome.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

There's NO team in this league we can't beat! The problem is, there are several that we have NO CHANCE at beating in a seven game series!

Well put.

That "no team we can't beat" thing will be tested when the Celts play against the Warriors in Oakland in April.

I think if you take a team to double OT with their stars all present (sorry Barnes), it's very reasonable to say you could beat them.

Heheh yeah, no question, I'm just not sure anybody can beat the Warriors on the their home court.
