never being 6-10,why is jerebko such a bad finisher,i know he had a good jump early in career and had he had acl injury-
he has gone to hoop more lately but seems to miss some easy layups, his passing off is not good
is his lift gone?does he have trouble with a high dribble? is his technique flawed?
last year he looked bigger has he thinned down for greater speed on defence?
i like jerebko he does alot of things that don't show up but have been frustrated by this part of his game-
i have spotted a quicker release in some games, does jerebko have a upside

He tore his achilles (not ACL) a few years back, that certainly didn't help. But he didn't have a lot of lift before that either, he needs speed to get some vertical. He also not as strong as most NBA fours, he easily gets pushed around at the hoop. So with Jonas, what you see is what you get. A tweener who hustles and gives 100% every night, plays some defense,  pump fakes too much but knocks down an occasional 3.

thanks anTP for  injury correction,he must have some wingspan then that allows him to keep ball alive on offencive rebounds and he does seem to pull down his share on defensive end because he boxes out-

You know who's a sneaky bad finisher around the rim... I mean really bad... Jae Crowder.

Doesn't look bad at leaping here.

I agree that he is versatile player who plays hard and shoots the three but I think the injury did hurt his jump.

Am the only guy who cringes when he shoots a layup?

As with most things in basketball, it isn't how high you jump, it's how fast you jump.  For rebounding, your verticle reach is more important than how high you can jump with a running head start or a standing deep knee bend explosive jump.

Confidence.

Doesn't get enough plays going to the basket, so he can't build any type of rhythm.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

after watching the you tube of jonas dunks he was more explosive quicker and did seem to jump much higher-he had quite a few dunk putbacks that don't see at all in his game-

Crowder doesn't get much lift, but his fg% at the rim is over 70%.

I think this is a big part of it.

Mickey is a better player.

I was going to start a thread on whether Mickey can replace Jerebko next season. Of course, much  - or all - will depend on other moves made by DA. The point about Jeerbko's finishing is interesting and it is noticeable how his fg% is way down this year at .413 compared to .460 over his career, and .446 last year (.431 as a Celtic). relatedly, his PER is also way down, to 9.6 this year, from 15.0 last year. Still, he is shooting the 3 at over 40% (.411) something that we have not seen from Mickey, and kind of key for this generally shooting poor team, and obviously needed for the stretch 4 role so key to this offense...Another question is whether Mickey is likely to be a better wing defender....

TP for getting that.

I'm guessing ITs numbers are lower because he tries to find more driving angles, leading to tougher shots at the rim. He's not only taking the easy drives but the tough ones also.

Crowder's numbers are pretty impressive tho because he scores often at the rim. He doesn't shy away from any opportunity to take it if the lane opens.

AB's numbers are probably higher because he just doesn't ever force it at the rim. He knows his limitations.

Smart seemed to have gotten better until the last couple of weeks. Any breakdown on his pre all star and post numbers are?
