Watched this video breakdown on the Warriors epic comeback OT win at OKC, and thought it was extremely revealing. The Thunder are just not well coached, and if Durant leaves this summer, you'll be able to look back at this loss as one of the reasons why. If Stevens were coaching that team, there is no chance they would have lost that game. Meanwhile, Steph Curry is out of control.

It did look like OKC just gave away the game. They seemed complacent the last two minutes of regulation when they should have closed out the game. I'm still not sure why GS is winning as much as they are? I mean, sure they have a great team but I just still don't see them as an all time great team. Anyway, i guess time will tell.

Coaching wasnt why they loss. Not being able to stop a guy banging 28' shots with hands in his face is why they lost. Curry was on fire. Someone had to lock him down early but dude was out of the box from  the moment he get off the bus. Being on fire is what won the game. Thunder just have to tip the cap to the Jerry West of the modern era.

Agree but do you think it's coincidence why some players always having average coaches? Lebron comes to mind first of course. Why did Mchale get fired? Who's coaching Melo? Spoelstra?
That's why I love my Boston Celtics under Ainge and Brad. Also, you gotta love the Warriors because they play team basketball unlike ball-hogging teams like Cle or OKC...in the end hope this prevails with KD this summer. Let Russ have his average Thunder team after...

Also hard to imagine that one of the best college coaches can't coach in the NBA. Saw his post game interview after they lost to someone and he was preaching collective and team basketball and how they don't share the ball... well good luck with that...

I guess it's not fair to hang it entirely on Donovan. The Thunder didn't execute, the Warriors did. But I thought a lot of the mistakes the Thunder were making out there-- the bad switches onto Curry, the offensive stagnation, those were things that a great coach like Stevens wouldn't let his team do, especially with that much talent on the court. They just weren't playing to their strengths.

This game was a Classic Example of what Tommy is Always talking about....

OKC had a 12 point lead with just over 4 minutes to go---and it's NOT that they didn't or couldn't execute---they started playing the clock---and went about 5 possessions in a row, just WALKING the ball up the court--letting GS set up their defense--and then Westbrook was left to chuck up a horrible shot with 2 seconds left on the clock

Celtics and Rondo were guilty of this all the time, even with PP,KG and Ray here.
No way OKC should have lost that game---but it happens over and over in this league--and everyone thinks Heinsohn is just a Bigmouth know it all----Well he does know what he's talking about---Nobody wants to listen to him.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

This is exactly what I saw too, OKC walking the ball up the court. They had been the better team until that point. To me, that is poor coaching.

Thunder have the most talent in the league. If you listen to Bill Simmon's podcasts or Lowe's, they've been saying the Thunder coaching has been terrible for years. How do you lose the finals with a team of Durant, Ibaka, Westbrook, and Harden? Like they got embarrassed that series. No excuse for their terrible defense either since they have freaking Ibaka. Part of the blame should go on Durant for not being a leader and holding teammates accountable on defense. It's just a shame what has transpired with the Thunder. That could have been an amazing team.

Isn't that what Brad says/implies often times in post game interviews?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I thought the loss was a result of OKC going "hero-ball" more than anything.

How much of that is on the players versus coaching is anyone's guess.

I thought it was bc KD didn't call a timeout. Oh and than he fouled iggy on a jumper at the buzzer.

Iggy making both of those free throws might be more amazing that Curry's GW shot.

Curry coming back on the ankle too. Great game for sure one of the best I have ever seen.
