Tim Duncan makes a great incredulous face.

I will say I think Lebron has actually cut down on his flopping some. A few years back (I think he even got fined once) he was doing it quite frequently where he would snap his head back and act like he had been shot when there was little or no contact with opposing players. While a lot of players really exaggerate the contact (including Harden on a lot of drives), it seemed particularly silly with Lebron because he was so physically imposing but was acting like guards were physically dominating him in these instances.

With respect to general complaining I would say there is probably a top tier of guys that includes Lebron and Paul and DMC and Draymond for sure, and probably also westbrook and 1 or 2 other guys. Then there is the rest of the stars. I do think Durant complains less than Lebron and IT definitely seems to complain less.

I still don't get the comment from the lady in this instance.  It appears all Lebron was asking if it was a shooting foul (I mean the foul was called on OKC, why would Lebron be complaining about that).  If it wasn't, then they would need to draw up a play and get going.  Seemed pretty reasonable to me.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I've noticed Smart complains quite frequently, although usually justified. Sometimes he stares/complains to the ref mid-play, which annoys me.

I think Smart is almost always justified in his complaints. He gets heated sometimes, but it's usually with good reason.

Does Lebron complain much more than other stars?  Unfortunately, I don't think that he does.

Paul and Griffin stand out to me much more than LeBron for this.  Their flailing, crying, and pouting are the main reasons they're one of my least favorite teams in the NBA.

Can anyone remember if Jordan ever complained?  haha did he even talk much

or maybe the refs were scared to  make too many calls against the guy.   Oh shoot he missed the basket, someone must of fouled him!
Its called Jordan Rules for a reason. Jordan got calls no one else in the league got for a decade an still complained all the time. He wasn't as demonstrative with it but he complained and played the refs as much as any current star does. And yes, Jordan talked and yelled. He was constantly trash talking, talking to the refs to get the next call going his way, and **** slapping his teammates verbally when they didn't do why he said.

Jordan might have complained but he did not whine like LeBron.

Does Lebron complain much more than other stars?  Unfortunately, I don't think that he does.

He doesn't really. Every star complains, even our own Isaiah Thomas who audibly yells "AND-1!" at least ten times per game.

There is no way IT complains nearly as much as LeBron.  I'll admit LeBron probably doesn't complain more than Harden, Westbrook, Howard, Griffin, CP3, DMC, Melo, Lowry and maybe a couple others.  I don't think the rest of the stars complain more than LeBron, and most of them wouldn't be able to get away with his degree of whining/scolding refs.

Durant, too.  Draymond Green.   Wade. Paul Pierce was a notorious complainer for us.

I don't like it, but I think that it goes with the territory.  These guys are coddled, and unfortunately, whining probably pays off (for everybody but DMC).

Yes, Draymond is incessant, and I love his game.

He has got to be one of the worst, no doubt.

It's a shame because I respect all other aspects of his game so much, but I lose all respect for him the moment he opens his mouth and starts squealing out complains...which happens on almost every single play.

i don't care if he complains when there is a legitimately questionable call...but he complains about not getting foul calls when it was blatantly obvious that there was no foul.  That's just irritating.

Oh and Dwight Howard is another to add to the list.  He's one of the only guys I know of who will elbow an opponent in the head, give the guy a concussion, and then look in awe at the offical wondering how no foul got called in his favour. Just idiotic.

I still remember when he grabbed Pierce by the jersey (while mid air) and pulled him (full force) to the floor.  Pierce was on the floor for a good minute or so and looked like he was borderline passed out, and then Howard started whining with a "what did i do ref, why you always pickin' on me?!?!?" look on his face.

I don't think he's quite as bad now, but back then...I wanted to punch him square in the face.

Crazy Lebron stat I jsut saw on Twitter:

@GeraldBourguet

Had to double check LeBron’s shot distribution to make sure I wasn’t crazy, but:
Inside 5 ft: 324-476 (68.1%)
Outside 5 ft: 187-544 (34.4%)

NUTS.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
THe idea that Lebron complains any more than the average complaining NBA star is ridiculous. In fact, he gets so many non calls around the basket at times because of his brute size and strength- similarly to Shaq.

People need to watch the Clippers, Warriors, Thunder and our own team.

We have some habitual whiners.

There's nothing wrong with it in my opinion- it's part of the game.

In fact I think a much worse culprit is Chris Paul. Blake Griffin is bad too-but like Lebron, he gets targeted/hammered way more than the average NBA player because of his size and explosiveness.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
