Generally speaking, people who never played basketball, or any other similar team game, doesn't have a clue how his plays and his presence overall affects his team's play and his teammates. Just wow. Hope he never changes, only to get better, and stays with us for many more years.
Oh thank you for enlightening us, the mere mortals. His presence overall is so impressive that he has to start every game on the pine.  :o
sooo only starters are considered "good players"?

Especially on our star laden starting line up that very often gets outperformed by the bench in many of these games.

how about a sort of forgotten dave cowens wouldn't he just fit in-he went to the floor like marcus ,i had never seen a center so tenacious-
hey celtics getting a little concerned with rj's shooting but as usual a couple nice passes -last night he hit jerebco with a pass at an angle that didn't seem possible for the dunk-
remember danny he had trouble with getting over the top -he would bounce off those screens-rj looked quite thin last night,i was hoping boston restaurants might bulk him up-my favorite for a long time was mistral------------

I don't remember Cowens too well, but you're correct. I suppose a young Perk could have fit in. Zeller is too skinny. It's almost as if Kelly is a better center defender than him at this point.

Maybe Jordan Mickey is the guy or half the solution for perimeter defense. I can't tell if he's tall and big enough. He also seems a bit tentative out there. Rookies seem either ready or not. I think Mickey will become the rich man's Brandon Wright. Maybe I am selling him short. It doesn't look like he will help much this year.

The RJ Hunter situation is scary because he had lousy stats in college. They were definitely skewed because he was forced to chuck up a lot of shots. But how does that explain Dana Barros at B.C.? Hunter has a unique jump shot and to the eye test he seems a gifted natural. They are called five-tool players in baseball. It's possible right now RJ has no better a jump shot than Marcus Smart. James Young looks like a pure gunner, a top shooter, once he sheds the growing pains. The problem for him is the rest of his game. Maybe the Globetrotters could use him.

The thing in Hunter's favor is he's a natural at the all-around game.

Maybe he is similar to Avery Bradley first entering the league. You can tell he has professional level skills and one hopes it eventually pans out.

I am a little worried about some of Jerebko's creative shots towards the rim. He is not as efficient as Zeller in close. We need a center coach badly. Zeller seems to never improve. He never seems to get any stronger or work on other parts of his game like passing. He's kind of like a Perk with a ceiling. But that might be because his mentor is Walter McCarty. I love Walter, but .....

No, but it's time to temper the enthusiasm about his impact a little bit.
