He opens up quite a bit in this, very insightful.

Seems like the next few months will help decide their long term strategy and therefore the strength of the 17 and 18 picks!

That sounded very encouraging for Celtics fans.  Sounds like he willing to think long term rather than throwing out the best possible team each season.

I didn't think he opened up much at all.  Whole thing basically boils down to, I was too aggressive at the start of my tenure, I won't be as aggressive going forward, but I still want to win badly.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Lesson learned: Insult GM candidate, offer him tons more cash to make up for it (likely), get your man in time to ask him who they're going to trade before 3pm today....

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojVerticalNBA

The Nets have hired Sean Marks as GM, team says.

Does that mean Marks has 5 hours to figure out if he wants Lopez and others on the team long term?  I would imagine they could get a first for Lopez and Young to start replacing our theft of their picks :)

I hope Howard does not end up in Brooklyn today though...not sure he would change this years draft position but would surely help them get a big agent next year. Marks will most likely help them with future recruiting as well assuming he is half as competent as his former protege.

Crossing fingers the Nets do a big dumparoo today for future picks and not other stars.

TP lol. It'll be interesting to see what happens with them now. The safe option is to stay quiet this deadline and not panic into anything, then deal with the direction of the franchise in the summer

At least the new GM doesn't have to worry about drafting any players. It's like he doesn't need to worry about half of his job role for the next few years.

hahha

seriously tho, Marks is very well respected. He's a major upgrade from King (not hard to do), and his SAS cache along with MP's check book will help him land a top coach.

it's not a good thing for the BKN picks over the next couple of seasons, in all likelihood.

5 hours? Wait when does the trade deadline end, isn't it midnight?
