Faried isn't that good. Gallo is the best player you have coming in and would be one of our top players, but then you have him coming off our bench. Plus, you have Mickey and Jerebko sharing minutes at the backup 4, when it's clear that Mickey is an afterthought and Lauvergene is probably better than both.

Faried is alright.  Gallo is fantastic and much better than Faried, but would probably play the 4 in Stevens' system, which is exactly what Faried would want to play. However, it's also the position that's easiest for us to massively upgrade.

We have realistic shots at Love, Horford and Ben Simmons - so why clog up that spot with two players like that?  It's not going to make us contenders.  At best, it would help us for the regular season and might enable us to squeak past Toronto, but we're probably not taking the Cavs to even 6 games with a move like that.

Don't understand the rationale as too why Den would do this. I think there GM hangs up and feels insulted that DA offered this.

Your rationale is really odd. Mickey isn't good enough to get minutes now, much less after that trade.

Why does this Celtics team need Faried?

You don't get it do you

What happens if you have a coach that is notorious for playing vets over rookies like doc. Does that mean the vets are always a better player?

No, apparently I don't get it. So what you're insinuating is that Mickey isn't getting minutes, not because he's an inferior player to everyone on our frontline, but because of some notion that Stevens is going with the "vets"? Call me crazy, but I'd like to think Stevens knows what he's doing and isn't playing him because he's actually seen him matched up against those guys in practice and reealizes he's not better. You do realize that D-League talent is bad, right? I mean really bad! Mickey could easily be the next Varnado.

Not impressed with Faried. He hasn't improved his game enough since coming into the league. He has the tools to be one of the best defensive PFs in the league but has never committed himself to do so. Failed to expand his extremely limited offensive game. A terrific rebounder but he doesn't do enough elsewhere.

I agree that Mickey is in with a fair shout to develop into a better player than Faried.

rumor has it that the Nuggets turned down a Blake for Faried, Gallo and Barton  Jokic deal. If that is true then I dont think this trade is plausible.

I will add that I would not be apposed to the Cs making a move for Faried. Though a flawed player I think BS will be able to get the most out of his skill set. I also think his high energy style will fit well with the core of this team.

I say No to this trade right away.

I have a serious question, why is everybody so high on Gallinari?

Do people forget 2012-2014 he didn't play because tearing ACLs.  Yes, he has scoring ability but is he a missing piece for us seriously, NO.

Faried though is an interesting piece the Celtics could add.  If we could add Faried for Lee, and Dallas's 1st and two 2nd round picks.  I'm doing this deal in a heart beat.  We get a proven player and get rid some of the draft picks.

We don't keep Johnson who we're paying 12 million a year while Faried is signed next season for 12 million, 13 million the next and 14 the next.  Faried is averaging 12.5 ppg, 8.9 rebounds, and 1 block a game this season.  Higher then any power forward or center we have.  Yes, Faried is only 6'8 but he's a Green type player who can play center if needs to.  Also by trading for Faried we don't need Johnson next year, Sully is expendable but also could be signed if he's coming at the 6-8 million a year and not sign Zeller and let go Jerebko.
