Stupid decision by the Clippers. The one guy they should keep is the one guy they have decided to get rid of. A top 10 player, a big man, 26 years old, a 20-10-5 guy. Unbelievable. They are picking a 30+yr old PG who gets injured in the playoffs every year and a center who can't do anything except dunk the ball. My goodness.

You gotta think, if Griffin isn't the star Danny's been waiting for, who is?

Question is, what do you need for him? Maybe something like:

Boston: Griffin, Affalo

NY: Lee, Sully, Rozier, BRK 2016, DAL 2016, PHI 2nd 2016

LA: Anthony, AB, 2018 MEM

Well, considering that Doc is in charge, are you surprised?

I like that, Doc even gets his man AB on top of a solid Blake replacement. Though I think you probably move one of our 4's (like Sully) to open space for Blake, and you probably have to give a another prospect and a 1st (think Rozier or Hunter and the DAL 2016 pick) to Atlanta to make that happen

Dude, be cool. :)

Nevermind him, Doc. I think this is a great idea for the Clippers. He is a cancer and your team will never succeed as long as you have him.

They should trade B.Griffin to Chicago for J.Butler.

I think J.Butler is the best wing they can get in a trade for B.Griffin. I don't think Indy will part with P.George or SAS with K.Leonard. They could maybe go after J.Harden. Not a good fit between Harden and CP3 though. Kevin Love is the other option. An out-and-out big but with superior perimeter skills to work with CP3 and D.Jordan.

I think the Carmelo Anthony idea up above was a great choice. A little concerned about his age (32yo in 3 months) but Melo is the type of forward that LAC should want in a space and pace offense. Melo would fit wonderfully well next to CP3 and D.Jordan.

In a deal with Chicago for J.Butler -- Maybe LAC could even snare away Mirotic as well from Chicago somehow. Start J.Butler at SF and Mirotic at PF. Redick and CP3 in the backcourt. D.Jordan manning the middle. P.Pierce and Jamal Crawford as key bench guys. That would be a fearsome team.

I wonder if New York would trade Porzingis for Blake Griffin.

I am not sure whether LAC would do it. Porzingis is amazing but not quite a win-now player for a team that is definitely in a win-now mode.

The Knicks get to fast forward their rebuild and pair Melo + B.Griffin together. Instantly become one of the most attractive FA destinations in the league. Could surely add some more talent around them in FA. Build a quick contender in the East. Outside of Cleveland, the East is wide open. The Knicks could easily become the 2nd best team in the East in short order.

Atlanta makes out like bandits for a soon to be expiring. I'd give them our other 2 first rd picks this year, but not the Brooklyn one. In fact, the Clippers, considering the fact Horford will be expiring, would probably decline. However, swapping out Horford for the locked up Millsap would likely get the wheels in motion.

If Griffin really is available this is the guy you give up the pick for... I doubt he's moved at the deadline though I really don't see it.

I'd say that for the present, getting Porzingis would be a lateral move for the Clippers. They are not in shape to get to the conference finals with or without Blake, but they could maybe win a 1st round series depending on seeds. However, for their future this would be fantastic for them!

I don't think NY would that swap, though. This would not put them over the top now and would maybe create future issues. I don't know how to factor the rising cap in - would Melo + Blake make them a very attractive FA destination? More than if they build around Porzingis?

No one brought up the fact that this is partially coming from Steven A Smith? Right there that leads me to believe that it is completely made up. Has he ever been right about anything?

Yup.

I mean Jordan/Blake don't work optimally together just because of the spacing. Blake would be just be more devastating with someone who was a threat other than to dunk the ball.

But trading Blake?  ::)
