I wonder if they'd be interested in a deal of Lee, Sullinger and a pick for Harris. They want to get more experience -- perhaps Lee could find a home in ORL as a vet off the bench (with championship experience). And Sully is a Scott Skiles type addition to a front court with soft rebounding who they can resign in RFA.

Meanwhile, they can clear their logjam of wings a bit in the process (which they need to do).

I think Skiles would probably end up trying to wring Sully's neck in practice some day.

Don't know how valid the rumors are, but it's been my stance since the summer that Tobias Harris could be traded.

There were teams like Boston and Philly that reportedly were interested in signing Harris.  There were reports that Orlando was unlikely to match an offer, because they didn't want to pay Harris long-term.   They wisely decided to lock him up so they didn't lose him for nothing, but that certainly didn't rule out the possibility that they'd trade him for assets at the deadline.   With the deadline approaching and guys like Gordon and Hezonja eager to get minutes, Harris seems like a likely trade candidate.

That's pretty much how it played out.

I'll just add that during the time that Orlando wasn't planning to match, reports had it that Danny had no interest in offering a max contract to him. So considering his current contract, one would have to think that Ainge doesn't have much interest to acquire him + give assets for him on top of it, unless he judges that some of the assets he has are devalued and is fine with moving them.

We'll see.

I would note that it's not a true max contract.  It has a max raise next year, but then two consecutive years of max decrease.

Not really sure why we'd want Harris...he's quite overrated, and if his career progression so far is anything to go, he has little-to-no upside.

Just another moderately inefficient, undersized power forward with a mediocre outside shot

OK, I didn't notice that. I do recall though that report had it Ainge willing to offer something in the $14 million per year range or starting at. Not sure which now.

I'd really like to see what they'd want for Oladipo. That's a guy I like. Word is they're looking for more veteran talent, how about some kinda AB/Rozier for Oladipo and filler swap? Or AB and a couple draft assets. He's a guy I could see getting 30 mpg for us in a AB/ET like role.

Not a bad trade, but I would just prefer Harris more.  I think he is a better long term fit.

Still think the trade I proposed earlier makes sense i.e. Harris and Fournier for Johnson, Turner, Sullinger, Bos and Dal 2016 1st's.  Gets Orlando two veterans, a solid PF prospect, and much better roster continuity, plus two 1st's.  Boston upgrades with Harris and picks up a solid SG prospect (though one that is restricted this summer and looking for a big raise, which is why Orlando might move him).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I don't like the idea of sending AJ or Turner out at this point in the season.
Both have played big roles in our system and are not easily replaceable.

While sully has put up good numbers from time to time I think he is a readily moveable piece.

With out checking the trade machine I'd hazard a guess that
Lee, sully, Dallas pick for Tobias would work
Does Orlando accept that? Doubtful since they would have to pay sully.
