For Horford , Howard. Pekovic or who knows maybe even Big Al.

Really don't think he wants to deal with Sullinger and his greedy rep David Falk after this season.

Sullinger has had the type of up and down season to seal the deal (not part of long term plans). He has been in the league an extra year than KO and hasnt progressed at the same rate.  May never obtain the body needed to take it to the next level. Especially if he gets the contract he is looking for

The reason he wants to trade Lee is obvious. Add the extra picks

Well, if you'd have to pay top dollar for a big this offseason, I'd rather have Horford than Sullinger, so any deal that doesn't have up giving up major assets should be a no-brainer.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Howard and Horford are out of the question for that package.
What value is there in a mid first round pick and Sullinger, David Lee is just filler because these guys are expiring or have player options.

I'd say he's dangling Amir, Jerebko, our own 2016 pick and the Dallas 2016 pick.
He's probably offering up the Memphis 2018 pick too as an option if teams want future flexibility.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

That Memphis pick could be worth a lot.
I wouldn't trade it until it's value is more clear.

I agree for Horford Howard and Big Al but I highly doubt Pek comes in to play given his injury issues and contract. I know it may not be the most popular move but I really wouldn't be apposed to trading the lesser of the Cs 1st rd picks this year, Lee and maybe Sully for Big Al. If healthy enough to contribute 25mpg his prowess in the half court could prove invaluable to this team in the playoffs.

H to the NO! That Mem pick could be killer! They struggled to get going this year and they are getting older and older with the nba changing. 4 years from now when we are winning, another team is tanking for us! ;)
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Bingo, Danny's greatest strength seems to be the long game, setting up future assets and flexibility.
While we haven't seen fireworks in a while we are witnessing a remarkably quick rebuild.
DA's down the line thinking has us competing now and positioned to reap the rewards of other franchises short term moves.

Agreed that I would take Horford over Sullinger in a heartbeat but not at a cost of $25 million/per year or whatever it'll take to keep Horford around.

That Memphis pick will be gold. There's some young teams up and coming in the West and Memphis is old. If Conley leaves this summer all bets are off for an incoming tank.
On Danny's desires, looks like that is what he's offering. I think he's drumming up rumours to get talks going but in the end he'll settle for a lesser target for that package. Maybe an equal expiring and a young prospect with more years of control.

People keep talking about what Horford will be asking for, when has Danny truly overpaid a player? Players ask for things all the time, doesn't mean he will get it! If he leaves the Hawks what other GOOD/better team can he go to that will pay him that? Nah, he will ask for Max and get less to leave money for the team, he's at the age for winning or bust. BKN can pay him but who are they beating even with him? No one.

Posted this in the Howard thread -- but whether teams really want Sullinger is the elephant in the room for the Cs trade deadline, IMO.

Houston for example: I can't see them caring much for Sully. Ainge presumably defaults from there to Zeller, though it's my impression that Ainge likes Tyler. From there? Not a ton of guys who Danny's eager to let go at this stage, I fear. Very early on the rookies, you get the sense that the Cs are still trying to figure out what they have in Young, and the rest of the rookie scale guys are largely core guys.

Horford will be brought in as a rental.

Danny can't keep Lee, Sullinger anyways after this season (or won't overpay for sully). In addition the extra 1st will be sent away in Europe anyways (he can't draft that many picks , no way in hell)

Big al, Horford or even dhoward is a better half year risk to see how far we can go. That playoff experience is more valuable than ppl think. Especially for the young guys and even cbs

It's highly unlikely ATL trades Horford.

I'm fine with Lee, Sully, Turner, Rozier, and any of the pick this year, other than the Nets pick involved in a trade. 5 second round picks this year. We gotta move at least 3 of these.
