If the Celtics have added some other top star players and need that extra star and still have the cap space, yes.


If the Celtics are adding the young rookie with potential, I don't think so.

If we are in the position where he might be the final piece of the puzzle then it might be worth a shot. He wouldn't be a nice fit in Stevens system but we are in need of a defensive big man in the middle who can rebound, surround him with shooters then it would work out.

The problem is NOT whether he fits Stevens' "system". The problem is not whether he can play or not.

The problem is the $30+ million price tag he'll command and get.

He turned his back on the Lakers which makes him my hero.

If its for 15-18M how could you go wrong? More than that, I don't think so (though I haven't adjusted my mind for the new cap). 

He's averaging 15 and 11 and he defends the 5.  Playing him 25 MPG, he would win games for the C's.  Influences like CBS, Jae and Marcus might be great for his occasional lack of total investment.

Personally I want to add him right now, not this offseason.  We're missing a scoring big man who plays defense.  I think Howard in this system would actually fit well.  He's still an athletic big, that would run the floor.  Specially with him being a key part of the offense.  It'll all come down to trade deadline if they'd be willing to get rid of him for a 1st round pick.  We have almost to many picks so if we could flip our 1st for Howard in a trade I'd be willing to see if we could make a serious push in the playoffs. 

Rockets
Howard - 1 year at 22 million
Harrell - 3 year at 1 million

Celtics
Lee - 1 year at 15 million
Jerebko 2 years at 5 million
Rozier 4 years at almost 2 million

I rather trade Rozier since we're getting back a power forward who's cheap for the next 2 years and was the better player on the Louisville in Harrell plus it keeps Smart being the future and Thomas.

Yes we should pursue Dwight. However, I'm not sure I want to give him the full max with his injury history.

Honestly I doubt he even considers Boston unless we are paying him more money than anyone else and I don't want to do that. He's a guy who has been rumored to be a partier who likes warm weather so I don't think Boston is a fit.

Playing him at the 5 would probably allow us to start Olynyk at the 5. If Howard is 100% and motivated he's still one of the best centers in the NBA.

Absolutely. You go after talent and D12 still has nights where he plays like one of the best bigs in the league (other nights, he still plays like a guy who deserves starter minutes). If we were gonna spend money, I'd rather the C's pick up Dwight rather than retain Sully.
