Assuming we keep the pick (I hope we do), how much would Ingram or Simmons get to play? I think if we get either of them they should play at least 25 minutes per night.

Also, would Ingram play at the 3 and Crowder at the 4? Just plug Simmons at the 4 and say bye to Sully?

I would say bye to Sully big surprise there if we get Simmons.  Do folks really believe Crowder can excel at the four, I don't.  He is ok in stints there.

How about a lineup of

Smart/Crowder/Ingram (or Simmons)/Kelly/Amir

IT, Hunter, Jerebko

in the offseason, if we are lucky to grab a top 2 pick, what can Bradley, Sully, Turner, Zeller and a few pick grab us?

see, in my opinion, Crowder is playing extremely well, and when Smart and Crowder are on the floor, they can almost stop anyone, and Crowder's offense HAS been improving. I don't want that kind of production to come off the bench. IT in my opinion is still a 6th man, I can be wrong since he is playing like an all-star this season.

obviously my idea is very flawed since we'd be trading a lot of people. But just interested in what you guys think

I think they would get the playing time their play warrents, as is what brad usually does

Simmons looks ready in every possible way, and as an unselfish player with good court vision it's hard to imagine him being held back. He would play 15-20 minutes a night from day 1 for us. Any of the other guys in the mix who knows.

I see Ingram more as a Shooting Guard. He would take Bradley's spot at the 2 if he plays well. Simmons and Crowder would play 3/4 together.

TP.

This isn't that hard.

If it's Simmons, he's just going to get many of Amir's and/or Sully's minutes (one of whom will not return next year).

If it's Ingram, he'll snag many of Turner's minutes (again, who would not be resigned). If he turns out to be a phenom Danny would move Crowder for a 1st rounder. Or he could take a few minutes from Avery who would also be moved to give way to RJ anyway.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

I don't understand the stubborn idea of putting half-man half-basketball-player Smart in the starting lineup (again) after Thomas has repeatedly proven that he's not only our best player and most dynamic scorer, but also a completely adequate starter despite his size.

Also, Crowder cannot play SG.

beat me to it -- TP.

this is just the common sense approach.  players earn their court time.  no difference based on where someone was drafted.

Agreed.  Smart is a better option for 6th man with his scrappy defense.  IT is the current star of this team and deserves to start.  And, Crowder is not a SG - agreed.

Seriously.  If you read the positional suggestions on here, you would think 30 teams are playing the GSW Death Line-up 48 minutes a night, 82 games a year.

Well, no, actually. Common sense would be to give them burn so they can develop, like Wiggins in Minny. Not 15 mins but 25-30 imo.

I am not holding out much hope for 1 or 2 just to avoid the disappointment.

With that said if the Cs where to hit the jackpot and land Simmons I would expect him to start at the PF right away and average around 30mpg. Ingram will likely take longer to adjust to the strength of the nba but I suspect he would work his way into turners current role and play around 20 mph as a rookie

If I get #1 I let Sully go and plug Simmons into the starting line up. If I get #2 I take Ingram then I trade Crowder, JJ and AB for Love. Again starter.

Team 1=IT, AB, Crowder, Simmons, AJ with Bench Smart, Hunter, Young, Mikey, KO
Team 2=IT, Smart, Ingram, Love, AJ with bench Rozier, Hunter, Young, Mikey and KO

Maybe in FA get better bench players. Also would consider trading C's first this 2016 and Nets 2017 for Noel if possible.

If the guy is truly a franchise, then he'll get the big minutes soon enough. BCS can figure out the rotations if either of them turn out to be. In any case, the squad's unlikely to look the same next year anyhow.
