I mean there's always Pop, but who else?

Rick C
I think they are close to each other, Rick has way more talent to work with. Just look at our roster, and look where our players were like a year ago. Who was Turner without Brad? IT4 was on the suns bench, now he is a all star candidate, likewise with Crowder almost. Sully was on his way to Fat Camp. The list goes on and on. I think Brad is Pop's successor after he is done.

Carlisle's teams exceed expectations literally every season.  Some of these Dallas teams the last few years have been utter garbage.  The last 3-4 years they have whiffed in free agency and he has somehow coached a makeshift roster of spare parts into the playoffs.  This Celtics team on the other hand was supposedly a 50-win team this year and will definitely not hit that mark.  I'm not putting that on HCBS, I think this current team was overhyped a bit, but I still don't think BS is anywhere near Carlisle's level.  Hopefully he will get there though.
to say Brad isnt anywhere near Carlisle seems a bit strong to me. It is undeniably easier to coach when you have an all-time great who refuses to age.

I think Carlisle is the tier above, but Brad isnt all that far behind.

9 16 vs playoff teams. Until that changes, let's not anoint him the second coming of Red just yet..

Shouldn't Brad be required to win one playoff game before we can claim he is equal to Carlisle?  It's way too premature for that.

I wonder what Brad Stevens thinks about that.

Well done, TP.

I'm not putting Stevens ahead of Carlisle until Stevens really proves himself in the playoffs. Carlisle is a magician.

George Karl isn't terrible. Good things starting to happen in Sacramento.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Pump the brakes.  Let's see him win a playoff game, then a playoff series.  Then we'll talk.

Stevens has done well so far, let's not anoint him yet.

I Q   Wise ......he maybe #1 .....and that's. From POps acessment .......Pop,admits stealing from CBS

Overall .top five ......lack of experience ...learning NBA egos .....cheating NBA refs ......NBA quirks ......older players .....travel.....I frequent practice......all. That stuff he is figuring out .

I predict he'll be the most successful college to NBA coach ever.

Top Five

Maybe top,three by next year

Needs a player like Noel to,develop .....maybe a nice top 5 pick too

CBS is on the way

Brad's one of the top coaches in the country period.  I put him top 5 along with Popovich, Coach K, Calipari and whoever else you want to toss in there.

He improves his players, enhances their value and gets the max out of team in terms of wins/losses.  His team plays hard for him more often than just about any other team in the league, which means he has the players respect.

I think he's also going to help with free agents moving forward.  Guys will want to play for him, which may help tilt the scale, everything else being equal.

The Wizard's announcers said that the Celtics appeared to know of Washington's tendencies.

Yep.  I don't think the Kings can play a lick of defense, but they're finally figuring out how to make those pieces fit together to score a lot of points and, most important of all, make Rondo and Cousins happy (aka filling the box score).

Karl deserves credit (so does Rondo for buying in and getting past the funk he was in the past couple years).

Karl is better than most ppl give him credit for and also (unlike what was initially rumoured) has avoided conflicts with Cousins.

On Rondo what you say is true, but also it takes time after an ACL injury for a player to return to his pre-injury form. Last season Rondo was clearly not there yet.

Pops and Carlisle are a clear top-2 to me.

Third is a tough call.  Stevens is a good of a call as anybody.  Budenholzer?  Spoelstra?  Vogel?  Doc?  Kerr?

A coach I really think is good at what he does is Mike Malone, even though his roster stinks right now.
