Simmons I would be thrilled about. Ingram, I'd be happy C's got him. Lab I would also be good with. Not feeling Dunn, Brown or Bender yet but I feel all could be solid pros.

I'd be pretty stoked with Simmons, Ingram, or Brown, but I don't quite know enough about the other prospects yet to get too excited about them.

Simmons, Ingram, Rabb, Hield, Ellenson, Stone.  I like Poeltl, but how much usage for him in today's NBA?

Simmons and Ingram would be game changers.

Brown, Dunn, Bender, Ellenson, Skal ... they seem like they could be more of the same kind of talent we already have, or they could be exceptional.

Poeltl would be a fine consolation prize, I guess.  Seems like a nice center prospect but hard to imagine stardom for a guy with his skillset.  Then there are names like Murray, Rabb, Stone, Diallo, Luwawu ... role players, or maybe more.

Really only the top two picks would "thrill" me, but there are a handful of other guys I could talk myself into.

There's an actual Kenyan 7ft project center hovering somewhere in the US college system I's be excited to see the Celtics use a 2nd rounder on. I am rues he's better than Hasheem Thabeet :-P

At the moment the most realistic pick is Bender.
It is a homer pick, I admit, since Im Croatian.
We will be there near no. 3 spot. He is a big, and we need to upgrade there.
He is extremly 18 years old, versatile, point center, fairly athletic, very good lateral movements, especialy at the most coveted big man skill today, switching on guards in the p&r game.
He has the feel for the game, inborn vision and you can't teach height (7'1")
I find him coachable with stoic work ethic and determined mentality.
His outside shot is developing, and his hand/eye coordination would suggest he will improve.
His english is fluent and he wants to make it in the NBA.
Just as American forum members favor NCAA players, coz they see them perform, i stand behind my pick.
I'm wondering, what do you want more from your prototypical modern big?

Buddy Hield is such a high risk prospect.

An undersized 2-guard, that's 22 years old with elite shooting ability. I assume his ceiling is pretty much OJ Mayo.

How is that different than any of the possible Free Agents in 2016??

consider this if you want to put a positive spin on the Brooklyn pick --> thanks to that pick we will have the opportunity to add a top prospect without the C's themselves actually having to stink to get that pick.  I predicted a top 5 pick since this summer and I still think that's what we'll have after the lottery.  I'll be happy with adding any one of the players projected in the top 5.  Every one of which projects to be starter-quality (in time) which is better than we have on the roster now.

Oh absolutely. I don't disagree at all.  The fact that the Celts will get a top 10 pick, and very likely top 5, without having to be awful, is amazing. Huge boon to the rebuild.

I'm just saying that for me to be "thrilled"  by who we pick, it'd have to be somebody who I believe will really change the trajectory the team is on. Adding another Marcus Smart / Kelly Olynyk caliber prospect would be nice and helpful, but a guy like that would be just another decent but not great asset.

Except that he's a great athlete too.  And he's 6'4, which would make him a giant in our backcourt.

I think Ingram is what this team needs. In 3 years he will be a top 10 player IMO(without injury), and he's not a player that we have to look at and wonder if he is using steroids.....that does come up sometimes. I can see him in the league for a very long time and he reminds me of a T-mac/KD Hybrid and he can play the 2 right away.

As someone who really hopes we can draft Ingram, how is he different than Parker who came from the same school and played the same position? I know Ingram is a twig in comparison but the stats are similar (Parker in scoring, Ingram in %). Parker was supposed to be the next Carmelo (even though he can't shoot the 3).

Just curious if someone watches more college ball can explain the difference in the two. Parker started out well enough last year but the team was still .500 and seems to have taken a back seat to Monroe and Greek Freak this year.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

The biggest difference i see from their Duke years is that Jabari had significantly more overall athleticism. I would call their shooting a wash, and both play average college defense. Brandon's wingspan and ballhandling is better than Jabari, thus he'd be an awesome SF; but can't play the 4 like Jabari could.

Also, as for why Jabari's team is bad and he's not being used? Jason Kidd is awful. He is the real person that we should thank for Brooklyn's collapse. If they had some actual wins, Brooklyn might have been able to hold their core together better.
