Woj is tweeting;

Clippers have traded Josh Smith back to Houston

"Clippers are sending cash to Houston with Josh Smith, covering the balance of his salary. Houston only sending draft rights to Clippers."

"The Rockets are sending the draft rights to Maarty Leunen to the Clippers in the Josh Smith deal"

Hopefully this trade leads to Terrence Jones getting dealt, is followed by Ty lawson getting dealt and then the trade flood gates open wide.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Lol Doc.

Smith was dumb for leaving in the first place unless Houston told him to move on, in that case they were dumb.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Clippers were a bad place for Josh Smith. He was always going to find it difficult to play with [a micro-managing control freak who doesn't trust his teammates like] Chris Paul.

I do not understand Houston going after J.Smith when they already have Terrrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas. Both of those guys are on the cusp of becoming top 15 PFs in the league. Houston need to develop them. Not waste away their talent. They are the most valuable pieces to the team's future after Dwight and Harden.

Monti had a set back of the back injury that had him out to start the season. He's out until at least the all star break. I think it's hard to trust him going forward.

A thought: Could Smith play the 5 on an uptempo team like the Rockets?

He could. So could Terrence Jones.

The Rockets have Capela and Dwight at center though. Not much need to ever go small.

-------------------------

I really wish Houston would stop starting Capela at PF next to Dwight. Their new coach is a train wreck. Way out of his depth as an NBA head coach.

Jones has regressed this year and his limitations are being clearer and clearer.  Donatas has been quite bad this year.  Terrence is the 92 of 95 PF's in overall RPM and 93 out of 95 PF's in defensive RPM.  WOW.  That is HORRIBLE!!!!  I truly do NOT think Josh can be worse than those abysmal numbers!!!!

well that's awkward...not sure how it went down last year but essentially this is how I see it

"guess who's back, Smith is back, after bolting after one season with us"

I bet this is the Clippers moving some salary out of the cap in order to make some other deal. Because they need to make some kind of addition before the deadline if they want to compete with the top 3 in the West.

They have been playing badly but they are still good players. The coach needs to concentrate on getting the most out of the players that are already there. Houston failing miserably at that.

I think Jones is too inconsistent on both ends and isn't elite enough at any one thing. I think Houston are ready to move on from him.
