One of his more interesting "Who says no" trade ideas: Griffin for Bosh and Winslow.

You have to give it to him, it would shake things up.

Clippers say no. Griffin is too valuable to trade without getting a top 10 player in return.

The Clippers. While Bosh might be close in terms of talent, he's years older than Griffin.

That would take some real Guts by the Clippers but I can see the logic. I would add to the trade to make it.

Griffin + Stephenson for Bosh and Winslow

I personally think this trade brings the clippers closer to winging a ring. They should be much better on D and Bosh gives them the ability (especially in playoffs) to go small with Bosh at center, PP at PF, Winslow at 3, Reddick at 2 and Paul while still having length inside.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I personally like it for the Clippers. It keeps them in win-now mode while also setting them up for the future with a top tier prospect. It makes sense for Miami, too, but only because Griffin is purely a PF and Whiteside is purely a C. Roles would be more defined and they get a bit younger with their star. I am not sure what the future holds for them, though, after Wade wilts away and Whiteside leaves in FA.

Agreed.  They should stick with the Paul - Griffin pairing and look at their options for retooling everything around them.

the Paul/Griffin pairing has been a failure.  56 or more wins three straight seasons and only 2 playoff series wins.

Uhm, 56 or more wins in three straight seasons is really hard to call a failure.

How about this?

Deandre Jordan + filler

for

Mason Plumlee + Al-Farouq Aminu + Gerald Henderson + Chris Kaman

Absolutely not. Blake is a top 10 player in the league.

 Blake is 26.
Bosh is 31 and missed last year with a life threatening blood clot.

 Not even close to fair.

Of course it is a failure.  That team has title aspirations and hasn't even made the WCF in the four seasons together.
