Just stating that calls were missed is not enough. Refs need to be held accountable, by being suspended or docked. Yeah i know players and teams make millions and the refs aren't so well off, but every job has appraisal mechanisms and consequences.

Also the prevalence of this needs to be reported on a per team basis and if it reaches a certain threshold the nba should pay the team damages.

After doing some extensive research, it seems that refs are supposedly reprimanded for bad calls privately. Apparently, they do it privately to not make the reputation of refs even worse than it already is.

But the whole thing is pretty hush-hush, and there's not a whole lot that you can find about it online. The NBA really protects their refs, for better or for worse, because they have so much of an effect on the game.
