NBA admits refs missed 2 calls against Celtics in Dallas at end of game

Just wanted to point out that the NBA admitted that the refs missed two calls, which is wildly conservative, last night in the final minutes of the game and overtime, both of which went against the Celtics. One of those calls was the very last play where Pachulia threw the ball to himself, and we should've got another possession with 2.5 seconds left on the clock on our end of the floor. That's pretty freaking substantial and obvious for a missed call. That could've very well meant the game and no overtime.

This is exactly why there should be coach's challenges or at least a way to make up these crucial blunders of incompetent refs. Also, if players and coaches are fined when talking about these issues, even when they're totally in the right, there should be more accountability held on these officials that affect the outcome of games due to their incompetence, e.g. public fines or suspensions.

At least they are admitting this stuff nowadays. It wasn't long ago when they used to deny it and sweep it all under the rug. Admission is the 1st step to recovery!

Given that people run stats on everything these days, I'm curious if anyone has gone through all the L2M reports to see which teams have been screwed by referees the most this year. We have to be up pretty high.

I think someone did last year for the Raptors, because they were screwed on several late-game calls in consecutive games. Then the NBA had the balls to fine the coach when he mentioned how bad the officiating is lol

this kind of garbage Always goes against the Celtics....never for us....Portland 6 men on the court--scored a basket, which they let them keep--and then called a Tech--which Ray Allen hit the FT...the Basket should have been deleted.

I like the idea of a coaches challenge except that it wou;d slow the game down even more. The official review is bad enough. How on earth does it take them so long when the v crew can figure it out with a replay in 2 seconds. Maybw the answer is that the crew in NJ watching the games be able to overrule bad calls and decide out of bounds plays without the refs having to go watch that little tv.

Give each coach a booth reviewed challenge per half. All other calls should go as called on the floor except in cases of a flagrant.

Haha nah, then I would be mad they didn't review an obvious missed call, like who tapped the ball out of bounds.

Do NBA should start to impose fine or do they already impose fine to referees that don't blow whistle that affected the outcome of the game?

They could review questionable calls remotely while letting play continue , like they do with reviewed 3's).  If a play is later reversed they could award the affected team an extra possession in a dead all or after a made shot.  Revert to regular system in last two minutes.

To be fair, the referees also gave three FTs to Jae Crowder at the end that he did not deserve. Long live the makeup call!

That's sucks, with BS as your coach... there is a lot he can do with 2.5 sec.
