You guys are overreacting about the refs.

Another great game from crowder.  Smart played pretty decent as well.  Nice game.
ha, it was a great game. close all the way, celtics pull ahead only to be tied. then a great play called by CBS, pass by smart, finish by crowder...and the last split second miss by wall!!

"nice" seems a bit tame here.  ;D

-_- Crowder got a undeserved technical, Smart got a undeserved blocking foul, Crowder got hit and the face and it wasn't called. -_-
It happens.

Nice win.

That was one of the worst officiated end of games I've seen in years. Probably since that game against Atlanta in the big 3 era. Great win, I'm so happy for Crowder.
the two final fouls against smart were terrible calls. nearly cost the celtics the game.

The very last one was fine, he had Temple's arm locked up, Temple had the ball but couldn't wrap it up or move, and the refs still held the whistle til it caused a turnover.  That's a legit foul, it was just maddening after all the ugly calls before it.

maybe, and i can see your point. but for me BOTH of them locked arms, but temple's arm was on top of smart's, meaning he had control of the situation. i might be wrong, but no foul would be the correct call there.

No.  Whining about the refs is incredibly lame.  It goes both ways.  Fans only ever see the perceived "bad calls" that go against their team and ignore all the equally bad calls that support their team. And I think the whole thing is a tad ridiculous... The conspiracy theories and whatnot.

Boston pulled out a nice win.  Love seeing crowder keep this level of play going.

I usually agree that it's lame to complain about refs but this was over the top this time. Yeah to suggest fixing is probably a over reaction but this really was one of the worst officiated endings of a game I've seen in a while

i didn't even notice.  But I wasn't listening to the broadcast so maybe they made a bigger deal out of it.  Just in general, I think it's hypocritical to blame a loss on referees.  There's a lot of potentially bad calls throughout every game.  They are human.  Human error happens.  Over the course of a game you are going to be helped and hurt by some of these calls more or less an even amount.  It's easy to focus on ones down the stretch, but there's been plenty of bad calls down the stretch that helped us win games in the past... So you'll probably never see me come here and complain about it.  It happens.

It wasn't just at the end, though. It was all game long, which made the end even worse. Sully is the one who really got screwed, because he got at least three fouls called on him that were CLEARLY wrong.

In my opinion technicals shouldn't ever really be given for words, but especially when provoked, and especially at the end of a game. I just don't think that the game should be altered like that at the end. Let the players play and decide the game based on performance. Not bs free throws. It was a great win.

That was a fun game until the ~45-15 second stretch turned into a farce.  8 FTs for Washington, 6 of them more or less gifted (Smart locking arms with Temple on the FT rebound was a legit foul).  Plus Crawford getting "incidentally" smacked in the face.

The last 15 seconds were cool though.  Wall was doing his best to choke all 4th quarter but the refs wouldn't let him.  Glad he finally got the opportunity.

I have to agree with FJ.  There were a few calls at the end of the game that were egregious and unacceptable from NBA refs.  I hope the Celtics file a grievance.  Not that I think there is any bias us, but the refs need to be held accountable for poor performance.

Those kinds of tie-ups are usually mutual, but when one guy has the ball it's the other guy's responsibility to get disengaged.  And it looked like the refs were going to let them play until Crowder got the ball away because Temple couldn't get both hands on it or turn around.  I've got no problem with that call.  It was just very frustrating after the sequence that had just happened.

Yeah, the thing is do officials even have an evaluation process at all? Like if you consistently make bad calls do you get in trouble or fined or suspended or anything? There does need to be more accountability overall for the officials, because it almost seems like now that they're in a protected status that you can't even question them without risking being fined.
