Rudy Gay signed a 3 year extension( 3 years about 40 mil) which kicks in next season. I would love to see Gay starting at the 4 next to Amir at the 5. Also gives us another scorer.

Celtics send: David Lee, Jared Sullinger, ET, DAL16 1st

Kings send: Rudy Gay

This seems like a pretty low risk trade so Sac probably says no, but I am still a little hesitant. I just don't understand why a team with Cousins and Rondo and with Gay as a featured scorer can't win games consistently. He has always seemed like a very good player, but his teams don't particularly excel.

No thank you.  I'd rather have a team of 5 Evan Turners than have Rudy Gay on our bench

Love the report that the Kings 'made Gay available' and 'offered' him to NOP for Anderson. Good luck with that.

Rudy Gay is small forward, in fact he has a prototype SF body at 6'8" 230lbs. He only averages about 6 rebounds per game in 36 mpg over his career.

So if you make that trade, the C 's are suddenly quite small up front. You would have to start Amir and KO which isn't bad but is Jordan Mickey ready for the big league? Tyler Zeller has been decent but not really the answer.

I've gone on record as saying the team needs a SF scorer who would sometimes play with Jae Crowder in a small-ball lineup  but losing Sully would leave a gaping hole in the front court rotation. So this move would have to be done along with other moves to make sense.

Sacto currently has 15 players under contract and are over the cap.
We can guess by reports that they are looking for a stretch 4.
Difficult team to trade with, I would imagine to deal with us, they would want KO as the starting point but, most likely would have to get at least one more team involved in a trade.

Find it strange that Rondo used to talk about Rudy Gay all the time and play with him in summer rec leagues but now that their team mates all you ever here is talk about Rondo and Cousins' dynamic.

Maybe they've told Rondo they plan to move on from Rudy and that he shouldn't get too attached.

I'd take Gay depending on who was going out. Ideally it'd be nice to see Turner go and one of either Olynyk or Sullinger.

Picks would probably need to be sent out as well.

I added David Lee to Portland after seeing a thread on Reddit today about the how Portland taking on Lee would save them from the cap floor. Interesting read...

TP for explaining the salary floor. (Ahhhh, salary is calculated daily 1/170 per day, now I get it.)

I don't want Gay.  Big stats.  Little positive impact on winning.  To many teams have improved right after he is traded away.
