This clears out our logjam down low and helps us spread the floor and Anderson can play some (not a lot) of minutes backing up Jae at SF!!

Works on realgm.com:  http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6647584

Thoughts??

This is in conjunction with us trading Lee, Sully, and Turner to the Bulls for Noah and Gibson.

posted the comment in your other thread on this -- wouldn't trade Amir for Anderson.  Anderson may be a better shooter (when he's not having a cold night) but he doesn't rebound much and his D is almost nonexistent.

both trades are lateral moves at best for this season and neither moves us forward for future years.

I posted this in the Brook Lopez trade comments section, it's relevant here too.

For everyone who considers including JJ and Amir in trade proposals

"I’m not sure Danny sees it as you do. They were deliberately signed with a second year non-guaranteed. The reason for this is to enable Danny to go into draft night with "expiring" contracts worth $17m which he can use to get a star aka Demarcus Cousins. Inevitably in a trade for Cousins we would have to take bad a "bad" contract, either Belinelli or Koufos..or maybe Gay if you consider that bad.

Unless including one of them means returning us a star in season, they aren’t going to be traded. Their value isn’t in their play but in their contract. From Danny’s perspective, why would you trade Amir and not Lee, why would you trade JJ and not Turner?"

Another poster after me pointed out that in the summer we can trade their combined contracts to take back $22m in salary. That's a very powerful option. I'd rather take that chance than have a rental of Ryan Anderson.

Amir is the best big we have.

I agree that clearing up the front court log jam is a priority, I just prefer to clear it by moving guys at the back of the log jam instead of our best big.

Anderson barely has the foot speed to cover stretch 4's no way he can play any 3. So really we would just be trading one big for another which doesn't clear up the log jam at all.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That says SO MUCH about our season when Amir with his horribly damaged ankles and feet is our best big!!!

P.S.  Don't get me wrong.  I love Amir personally.  My son and I used to watch him with the Fayetteville Patriots fresh out of high school, so I have kept up with him due to that (even before we signed him this year)!!

As of now, Amir is one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA. Without him our team falls apart in the inside

12m will be a bargain for amir next year.. even as a poor man's tristan t. If he is to be traded, better only be as part of a package for an all-star.

The Anderson love-fest is getting out of hand.
