more like "getting a running start to jump in the Grand Canyon"
so, you propose giving up our best rebounder and our second best ball handler (as well as the second best person at getting their own shot) just to move up in this draft? why? NO would be a bit better but not enough to justify swapping their pick with Dallas. We'd go far enough down in the standings to be solidly in the lottery.
What's the point of having 3 lottery picks this year (IF you got NO to agree, which they won't) when the talent seems to be falling off after the second pick to where the players may be solid pros but no one spectacular?
It's a trade idea that would only happen if Ainge decided this group was going to exit the playoffs 1st round and he didn't want that. I'm not saying we should do this no matter waht.
Again, I agree that NO wouldn't improve to make the playoffs, but its conceivable that they might think they would.
I disagree that the talent falls off after the 2nd pick. People rush to call every draft a 2 man race, then they call it deep, then they say its not as deep as we thought... Come June it will be clearer but I believe there are a lot of sold prospects in this draft. Brown, Ellenson, Murray, Poeltl to name a few.
Also 3 lottery picks is a pretty decent start in trade discussions..
