I'm about there, especially given the context of the picks we have this year and the fact that we could still legitimately get down to a bottom-5 record.

The Nets, Lakers, Sixers, T-Wolves and Suns have something to say about that.

5ish isn't unreasonable. Plus, that's just another chance we have at getting in that top three.

What makes you think they'll even get all the way there with all those teams I mentioned are losing?

Tougher Eastern Conference for one. But I would want a FULL tear down if we did so. Everyone not named Smart, olynyk, Young, Hunter, Rozier, and Mickey gone, and we'd keep Crowder, Amir, and JJ for vet influences. Playing them all big minutes would eventually get us down closer to their level.

We would lose Brad Stevens.  As long as you are cool with that.

Just sell Lee and replace him with Mickey.

Just waive Lee. Nobody wants him. Seriously who would want him?

I like Brad, but if he would decide to leave because the team determines they are still in rebuilding mode instead of remaining committed to a path toward a first round playoff exit, then I'd say he's not the right coach for this franchise.

how?
I'm sure he knows what it takes to win a championship and if we act quickly before the deadline and trade guys that have extra value because of contracts...IT AB Crowder, maybe he likes the young guy/s we get.

What sucks is that we keep these dumb vets on the team and call it "depth" but it hurts our development and pads our wins so we get a worse pick. Last year we could have picked Myles Turner or Winslow(I like Turner) had we lost just 3 more games. I think if we had Myles Turner plus the others we drafted we would be in a much better spot.

At least it looks like posters are starting to get sick of the useless vets and want to make some room for development.....that should be how it is/wish we did that last year.

I think the point is to take what we have been building and add pieces to it. Trading Isaiah thomas Sullinger, or Bradley is not trading a dumb vet. It's trading a core piece on our team.

Selling those guys off to tank the season and get who knows what is just starting over as far as im concerned.

I doubt he would leave because it is the right move to make IMO if you are looking to win a championship. I think CBS wants a championship and knows right now might be the best time to try and pry a good young guy.

Or CBS could be about regular season wins and not about championships.......then he is not the right coach but I do not believe that.

I'm slowly starting to convince myself that this is a good idea...

They're in a funk right now, but they are still in the playoff hunt.

This team has regressed significantly.

Yet are still an elite defensive team and is not too far from being in the playoffs.

Stevens is gone anyway. Every big time College job that comes up you will hear the rumors.

Pitino, Calipari, Carliesemo, Brown and a list of others have all gone back to the College game and why is that?
Pro game is run by the best players who pick and choose where they play.

There is a reason why only 10 organizations have won a Championship since 1980

I'm okay if we end up still winning games playing our young guys, because it'd mean that A) Stevens finally figured his issues out and B) our guys are playing well. There's nothing to gain by purposefully losing.

Why would ainge trade a first round pick for Isaiah only to turn around and dump isaiah for the same thing he traded for him? More assets to the cache?  We are going in circles. Has Isaiah not lived up to your expectations?  The idea is to take the picks we have and turn them into talent that can help us.  Isaiah has done that. It was a steal trade for Ainge actually.  And we are going to back track on that?

It's hard enough to find deals like that and we want to give it back?  Isaiah is young. He is on a good contract.

Yes we would lose Brad STevens if we start trading off our core to rebuild again.  Brad Stevens is intelligent. He's coaching here and not  Philly for a reason.

And no Brad Stevens isn't gone anyways.  I'm starting to question the validity of this board though.

I love the mentality of the modern NBA fan:

"As soon as you hit a rough patch, throw in the towel."

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

No kidding right.

How long can we sell for? We have too many assets as is. If we don't cash them in, we might end up losing them cause we won't be able to sign all the draft picks we will be selecting.

You think Donovan would have taken a job in Minnesota or Philly? I think not.
He took a job with 2 superstars...

Stevens in time is gone. Unless Ainge deals or signs the Celtics a future. It's a fact..
