I saw Zeller at the end of the game, so he wasn't injured.

He got the DNP - coach's decision.

David Lee got minutes and was awful. Why does Brad keeping playing him?

Stevens is a good coach, but he isn't perfect. In some cases, he is even bad and very stupid, almost moronic.

That's what I took from tonight's loss to Memphis. Brad Stevens is overrated.

Maybe he will improve? Brad is getting a D- so far for this year based on his use of David Lee and a strange obsession with putting Tyler Zeller in the dog house.

What would it take for Brad Stevens to stop playing Lee? Maybe he should get his eyes examined? It's puzzling.

I think Stevens needed to see Lee hit bottom, and this was definitely it.

Was he moronic when we were up double  digits at the half without  Zeller?

The biggest issue I'm  having with us of late is that you can point to a specific  quarter when we simply don't show up. Three quarter  basketball against decent competition is suicide for this team. Also we have a difficult time with teams with dominant bigs...  So records aside its easier for us to beat a team like OKC or Hawks than a team like Memphis and Nets

Give Lee the Bogans treatment at this point. Don't even let Brad be tempted to play him.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Brad has the respect of all the players.   I'm pretty sure his rotations are better than what we see or think.   If they call goal tending Lee gets that bucket.   Zeller and Lee are both not playing that much because they dont deserve it.   David Lee > Zeller on Offense.   Zeller > David Lee on Defense.   We needed a bucket.   I dont see the issue.

Maybe they thought they could showcase Lee for a trade.
Clearly a bad idea.

This loss is on Brad

Does Brad owe something to David Lee? Never in Brads tenure in has a player come out publicly and complained in excess about playing time, never in Brads tenure had he a player as oblivious to his current talents as David Lee is now. Why does Brad keep playing him, we always hear about how he is the "advanced stats darling" and what not; all the numbers, both advanced and simple, point to that David Lee is a detriment to the team, yet he logs more minutes than more deserving players such as Zeller and Mickey. David Lee is poison to this team, to all of the players on the court with him; only Isaiah escapes the overall negative that David brings to the court. What exactly is he good at, its not like he is out there because he is a defensive specialist, usually the narrative is he is valuable on the offensive end, yet he can not finish at the rim half the time. This loss is completely on Brad, as expected David had the lowest +/- on the team by a long shot at -12. Why does this clown even get playing time anymore? We were fine with him riding the bench the whole game.

If Brad is costing us wins, I wish he'd at least do it playing the rookie contract guys more.

Great minds think alike, great observations. Spent the last number of minutes writing up my own thread on this issue (which it is at this point). TP

WHen you have Lee whining about playin g time and a coach trying to make everyone happy what do you think the result will be.  DIdnt have this issue last year.  We had a much better chemsistry last year.  Get rid of Lee and this team will be better.

There is no defense for playing Lee ever again. None.

I figured it out guys.

The real secret mastermind on the Celtics bench was Gerald Wallace last season. He was the one who came up with those perfectly optimized rotations once we jettisoned Rondo and Green.

As I said in the game thread, Stevens is bad with rotations and time outs.  He's so good in other areas that I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking he was doing something I didn't get for a while.  But done giving him that.

If Brad is costing us wins, I wish he'd at least do it playing the rookie contract guys more.

One of his rotational issues, in addition:

Playing veterans because they are veterans.
No feel for when to pull or insert players based on how they are playing.
Waiting too long to put a player in down the stretch.
No consistency for minutes or even who is playing.
Playing too many players.

Wish he did both those things last year.
